Nyt kun vuoden 2021 suosikkiasut tuli koottua yhteen tässä postauksessa, niin tällä kertaa on vuoden 2021 kauneussuosikkien vuoro. Vuoden aikana tuli kokeiltua ja käytettyä monia erilaisia tuotteita, mutta tähän postaukseen valikoitui ne, jotka olivat käytössä kaikkein eniten ja useimmin. Tässä siis vuoden 2021 kosmetiikkasuosikkeja niin meikkien, ihonhoidon, hiusten kuin tuoksujenkin osalta! 

After recapping my favourite outfits from 2021 in this post, now it's time for the best beauty products of the year. I tried and used many different products during the past 12 months, but in this post I've only featured those that I noticed myself reaching for and using the most often. So here are my 2021 beauty favourites covering make-up, skincare, haircare and perfume!

Clinique Even Better Clinical

Cliniquen Even Better Clinical -meikkivoide (pr lahja, täällä*) on ollut vuoden 2021 suosikki mitä meikkivoiteisiin tulee. Tänä vuonna olen käyttänyt meikkivoiteita ylipäätään paljon paljon vähemmän kuin aikaisemmin, ja suosinut pikemminkin sävytettyjä päivävoiteita, BB ja CC -voiteita tai muita kevyempiä meikkipohjia. Mutta silloin kun kasvoilla on ollut meikkivoidetta, niin se on ollut kaikkein useimmin juurikin tämä. Even Better Clinical -meikkivoiteesa on seerumimainen koostumus ja se sisältääkin myös ihoa hoitavia ja parantavia ainesosia: hyaluronihappoa, salisyylihappoa, C-vitamiinia ja UP302-molekyyliä. Meikkivoide on kevyt ja helppo levittää, mutta peittää silti yllättävän hyvin. Tämä pysyy hyvin kasvoilla koko päivän (tosin itselläni on aina myös pohjustusvoide alla), tuntuu mukavalta, ja tekee ihosta tasaisemman, sileämmän ja kosteutetun. Plussaa myös fysikaalisesta suojakertoimen 20 aurinkosuojasta! Ainoa pieni miinus tosin meikkivoiteen tuoksusta, tai pikemminkin tuoksuttomuudesta. Even Better Clinical on tosiaan hajusteeton, minkä vuoksi siinä on hieman erikoinen tuoksu. 

Clinique Even Better Clinical (pr gift, here*) was my favourite when it comes to foundations. This year I've used a lot less foundation to begin with and preferred tinted moisturisers, BB and CC creams, and other lighter bases. But when I have worn foundation, it has most often been this one. Even Better Clinical has a serum like consistency and it also contains ingredients that care for the skin: hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C and UP302 molecule. The foundation is light and easy to apply, but it still provides a good coverage. It's long-lasting and stays on well all day (although mind you that I do always have a primer underneath too), feels comfortable on the skin and makes it look smoother, more even toned and moisturised. The foundation also has a physical SPF 20, which is always a plus! The only minus comes from the scent, or more like the lack thereof. Even Better Clinical foundation is perfume-free, so it has a little unusual scent to it. 

Lumene Invisible Illumination Liquid Bronzer

Tämän vuoden ehkä kaikkein ihanin uutuus omassa meikkirutiinissani on Lumenen Invisible Illumination Liquid Bronzer tipat (pr-lahja, täällä*). Olin kyllä kuullut näistä hurjan paljon kehuja, mutta vasta tänä kesänä testasin Liquid Bronzeria ensimmäistä kertaa itse, ja ihastuin heti täysin. Sen jälkeen nämä onkin olleet mulla melkein päivittäisessä käytössä. Tipat tuo kasvoille aivan ihanan luonnollisen hehkun ja sopivat hyvin niin kesään kuin talveenkin. Koostumus on kevyt ja väriä on helppo taputella poskipäille ja kerrostaa tarpeen mukaan riippuen kuinka paljon väriä ja hehkua kasvoille kaipaa. Näistä on ihan ehdottomasti tullut muun uusi luottotuote! Ja kun mainitsin, että tänä vuonna on tullut käytettyä enemmän kaikkia kevyempiä pohjatuotteita, niin esimerkiksi Lumenen Invisible Illumination -sarjan Instant Glow Beauty Serum on ollut usein käytössä (pr lahja, täällä*)

Maybe the loveliest addition to my make up routine this year are the Lumene Invisible Illumination Liquid Bronzer drops (pr gift, here*). I had heard some amazing things about the product before, but it was only this year when I finally tried the drops for the first time myself, and I completely fell in love straight away. And these have been pretty much on a daily use ever since. The drops add such a lovely natural glow to the skin and work well no matter if it's summer or winter. The consistency is light and it's easy to apply the colour onto the cheekbones. The drops can be layered depending on how intense of a glow you want on your skin. These have definitely become my go-to product! And I mentioned that this year I've used a lot more lighter base make-up products, for example the Instant Glow Beauty Serum (pr gift, here*) from the Lumene Invisible Illumination range has been one of them. 

Beauty Act Daring Impact Mascara

Vuoden suosikkiripsari puolestaan on ollut Beauty Actin Daring Impact Mascara (pr lahja, täällä*). Ripsari sisältää kuituja, eli se tekee ripsistä super pitkät ja harja myös erottelee ripset kauniisti. Kaikkein useimmiten kun olen saanut kehuja ripsistäni, on mulla ollut ripsissä nimenomaan tätä Daring Impact -ripsaria. Tämä ei myöskään varise päivän mittaan, vaan pysyy hyvin paikallaan ja kestää pientä kosteutta ja tihkusadettakin. Pois peseminen on silti helppoa lämpimällä vedellä, eikä ripsaria tarvitse hinkkaamalla hinkata että sen saa irtoamaan. 

My favourite mascara of the year on the other hand is the Beauty Act Daring Impact Mascara (pr gift, here*). It's a fibre mascara that makes the lashes super long, and the brush really separates the lashes beautifully. When I've received compliments on my lashes, the most often it's been on the days when I've been wearing the Daring Impact mascara. This one also doesn't smudge during the day but stays on well, and can even handle a little bit of rain and humidity. However, it's still easy to wash off with warm water without having to scrub the eyes in order to remove the mascara. 

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair

Tänä vuonna pääsin vihdoin testaamaan tätä kulttimaineen saavuttanutta Estée Lauderin Advanced Night Repair -seerumia (pr lahja, täällä*), ja nyt todellakin ymmärrän miksi se on saanut niin paljon kehuja ja faneja ympärilleen. Seerumia voi käyttää aamuin illoin, mutta itselläni tämä oli käytössä nimenomaan osana iltojen ihonhoitorutiinia. Seerumissa on hyaluronihappoa ja antioksidantteja, jotka kosteuttaa, hoitaa, uudistaa, vahvistaa ja korjaa ihoa nimenomaan yön aikana. Advanced Night Repair tekee ihosta terveen, tasaisen ja hehkuvan näköisen ja tuntuisen. Ja onhan tämä pullokin nyt ihan super kaunis! 

This year was finally the one when I was able to try the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum (pr gift, here*), that has pretty much gotten a cult following by now. And now I can personally also understand, why it has gotten so many compliments and fans around it. The serum can be used as part of your morning and evening skincare routines, but I've had this only in my evening routine. The serum contains hyaluronic acid and antioxidants that moisturise, renew, repair and strengthen the skin during the night. Advanced Night Repair makes the skin look and feel healthier, smoother and glowier. And there's no denying that the bottle is beautiful too. 

Murumuru Anti-Stress

Murumurun Anti-Stress kasvoöljy (pr lahja täällä*) oli vuoden 2021 uusi ihana öljylöytö. Tässä yhdistyy suomalainen ruusunmarjaöljy, vadelmansiemenöljy, jojobaöljy ja viinirypäleöljy, jotka ravitsee, kirkastaa, suojaa ja pehmentää ihoa. Öljy ei jätä kasvoille inhottavaa tahmaista tuntua, vaan nimenomaan ihanan pehmeän fiiliksen. Tätä olen tykännyt käyttää erityisesti iltaisin gua sha -kiven kanssa ja hemmotella ihoa kunnon kasvohieronnalla. Murumuru on kotimainen sertifioitu luonnonkosmetiikkabrändi, ja olen kyllä tykännyt brändin muistakin tuotteista hurjasti. Kaikki tuotteet valmistetaan vieläpä omalla tehtaalla Helsingissä ja monet raaka-aineetkin valmistetaan itse, eli Murumurun tuotteet on myös ihanan lähellä tuotettua. 

Murumuru Anti-Stress facial oil (pr gift, here*) was a lovely new oil find in 2021. The ingredients include Finnish rose hip oil, raspberry seed oil, jojoba oil and grapeseed oil, which work together to nourish, brighten, protect and smooth the skin. The oil doesn't leave a sticky residue, but a lovely smooth feeling onto the skin. I've loved using this especially at night together with my gua sha stone and pamper my skin with a face massage. Murumuru is a Finnish certified natural beauty brand, and I've loved all of the products I've tried from them. The products are made at their own factory right here in Helsinki and many of the ingredients are also made onsite, so Murumuru is locally produced too. 

Atopik itseruskettava kasvovesi // self-tanning toner

Tänä vuonna tuli kokeiltua ehkäpä enemmän itseruskettavia tuotteita kuin koskaan aiemmin, mutta kategorian suosikiksi nousee Atopikin itseruskettava kasvovesi (pr lahja, täällä*). Murumurun tapaan Atopik on sertifioitua kotimaista luonnonkosmetiikkaa, ja olin aluksi hieman epäileväinen luonnonkosmetiikkaa olevien itseruskettavien tuotteiden toimivuudesta. Mutta erityisesti tämä kasvovesi kumosi mun ennakkoluulot täysin. Kasvovedellä saa iholle kauniin, luonnollisen ja tasaisen päivetyksen, eikä se tahraa esimerkiksi tyynyliinaa ollenkaan yön aikana. Rusketuksen intensiteettiä voi myös tehostaa käyttämällä kasvovettä useampana iltana peräkkäin, mutta jo yhdelläkin käyttökerralla saa kasvoille kivan hehkun. Mulla on ollut tämä käytössä tosiaan nimenomaan iltaisin ja rusketus kehittyy 3-5 tunnin aikana.

 

This year I tried probably more self tanning products than ever before, but my favourite from the category is this Atopik self-tanning toner (pr gift, here*). Just like Murumuru, Atopik is also certified natural cosmetic brand from Finland, and at first I was a little sceptical whether natural self tanners would actually be any good. But especially this toner proved my prejudices wrong. The toner creates a beautiful, natural and even glow to the skin, and it doesn't stain e.g. your pillowcase overnight. You can use the toner multiple nights a row if you want a more intense colour, but it also creates a beautiful glow even after just one use. I've been using the product as part of my evening skincare routine, and letting the tan develop overnight as it takes 3-5 hours to do so. 

Ida Warg Repair

Ida Wargin hiustenhoitotuotteet ylipäätään ovat mun vuoden 2021 suosikkeja, mutta ihan erityisesti brändin Repair shampoo ja hoitoaine ansaitsevat maininnan (pr lahja, shampoo täällä*, hoitoaine täällä*). Näiden käytön myötä omasta kuivasta, pörröisyyteen taipuvaisesta luonnonkiharasta tukasta on tullut sileämpi, pehmeämpi ja vahvempi. Välillä kun hiukset ovat kaivanneet ihan erityistä huoltoa, niin olen vielä korvannut hoitoaineen saman sarjan hiusnaamiolla (pr lahja, täällä*). Tuotteet myös näyttää super söpöiltä kylppärissä, ja näissä on aivan huumaava tuoksu. 

Ida Warg hair products in general have been my favourites in 2021, but especially the brand's Repair shampoo and conditioner deserve a mention here (pr gift, shampoo here*, conditioner here*). Using these has made my dry, frizzy and naturally curly hair smoother, softer and stronger. Sometimes when my hair has needed some serious TLC, I've even replaced the conditioner with the Ida Warg Repair hair mask (pr gift, here*). The products also look super cute in your bathroom and they smell amazing. 

Sebastian Professional No Breaker

Sebastian Professional oli mulle täysin uusi brändituttavuus, mutta ihastuin tähän No Breaker -suihkeeseen heti ensikäytöllä (pr lahja, täällä*). Suihke on hybridi muotoilutuotteen ja hoitotuotteen välillä, mutta koska itse muotoilen hiuksia oikeasti todella harvoin, on No Breaker -suihke ollut käytössä enimmäkseen juurikin hoitavana ja hiuksia selvittävänä suihkeena hiustenpesun jälkeen. Suihke tekee hiuksista helposti harjattavat ja vahvemmat, eikä No Breaker -suihkeen käytön aloittamisen jälkeen hiukset ole enää katkeilleet ja irtoilleet samaan tapaan kuin aiemmin.

Sebastian Professional is a totally new brand to me, but I instantly fell in love with this No Breaker spray on the first use (pr gift, here*). The spray is a hybrid between a styling and a care product, but as I actually quite rarely style my hair in any way, I've used the No Breaker spray mostly as a conditioner spray after washing my hair. The spray makes my hair stronger and easier to brush, and ever since starting to use the No Breaker spray my hair has not been falling out and breaking the same way it used to. 

Jo Malone London Elderflower Cordial Cologne

Tänä vuonna on tullut kokeiltua, ihastuttua ja käytettyä monia erilaisia hajuvesiä, mutta kaikkein useimmiten käytössä ollut tuoksu on ehkä kuitenkin tämä Jo Malone London Elderflower Cordial Cologne hajuvesi (pr lahja). Erityisesti keväällä ja kesällä tätä tuli suihkittua melkein päivittäin, sillä tässä tuoksuu ihanasti seljankukka ja muut valkoiset kukat. Elderflower Cordial Cologne oli osa viime kesän limited edition Marmalade Dreams -sarjaa eikä siis taida olla enää juuri missään saatavilla, mutta jos jossain törmäätte niin kannattaa ehdottomasti tutustua! 

This year I've tried, loved and used many different perfumes, but the one I've reached out for the most is probably this Jo Malone London Elderflower Cordial Cologne perfume (pr gift). This was my go-to scent especially during spring and summer when I used this pretty much on a daily basis as the smell of elderflower and other white flowers is just perfect for the summertime. The Elderflower Cordial Cologne was part of last summer's limited edition Marmalade Dream collection and therefore I don't think it's available anymore, but if you do come across this scent then definitely give it a try!

The Best Self Tan Products for the Face

Kesän myötä huomaan tarttuvani itseruskettaviin tuotteisiin aiempaa useammin, erityisesti näin alkukesästä kun iho ei vielä luonnostaan ole saanut juurikaan väriä pintaan mutta kesäfiiliksen ansiosta olisi ihanaa näyttää hehkuvalta ja päivettyneeltä. Erityisesti kasvoilla tykkään pitää yllä kevyttä päivetystä, ja tässä postauksessa jaan teillekin mun vinkit ja suosikit helpoimpiin, kerrostettavimpiin ja nopeimpiin itseruskettaviin tuotteisiin kasvoille. 

As summer arrives I notice myself reaching towards my self tan products more often, especially on these early summer days when the natural tan is still a work in progress but I'd like to look more glowing and a little sun kissed. I like to upkeep a light tan especially on my face, and in this post I'm sharing my top product tips and favourites for the easiest, most buildable and quickest tanning products for the face.

Helpoin: Itseruskettavat kasvosuihkeet

Kaikkein helpoin tapa loihtia kasvoille väriä ja hehkua on ihan ehdottomasti kasvosuihkeet. Nimensä mukaisesti kasvosuihkeiden kanssa riittää kun tuotetta suihkii kasvoille esimerkiksi illalla muun ihonhoitorutiinin päätteeksi. Joitakin suihkeita voisi kuulemma käyttää jopa meikin päällä, ja ainakin St. Tropezin suihkeesta olen kuullut tällaisia kommentteja. Itse en kuitenkaan ole suihkeita meikin päällä käyttänyt, vaan nimenomaan aina iltaisin puhtaille ja kosteutetuille kasvoille. Suihkeet ovat hienojakoisia ja kuivuvat nopeasti kasvoille, eikä niiden kanssa tarvitse jännittää tahriintuvaa tyynyliinaa. Itseruskettavilla kasvosuihkeilla saa luonnollisen lopputuloksen ja kevyen hehkun, mutta mitä useammin niitä käyttää niin sitä enemmän väriä kasvoillekin luonnollisesti tulee.

The easiest: Self tanning face mists

The easiest way to work a little tan and glow to the face is without a doubt self tanning face mists. As the name suggests, with face mists all you need to do is a spritz a little bit of the product on the face e.g. at night as the last step in your evening skincare routine. I've heard that you could also use some of the mists on top of your make up (at least St. Tropez mist is supposed to work in that purpose), however I haven't tried a tanning mist on top of make up myself. Personally I prefer spraying a few spritzes on a cleansed and moisturised face in the evening. The mists are fine and dry quickly, and you don't have to be afraid of stained pillowcase with them. The mists create a natural tan and a light glow, but obviously the more often you use them the more colour you get.

Kerrostettavin: Itseruskettavat kasvoseerumit

Vaikka suihkeitakin voi toki kerrostaa, niin kaikkein helpoiten kerrostettavia itseruskettavia tuotteita ovat kavoseerumit ja itseruskettavat tipat. Seerumeita ja rusketustippoja voi levittää suoraan kasvoille ja tuotteen määrää säätelemällä voi säädellä lopputuloksen voimakkuuttakin. Luonnollisesti enemmän tuotetta tarkoittaa enemmän rusketusta, ja vähemmän tuotetta hieman hillitympää rusketusta. Seerumeita ja itseruskettavia tippoja voi sekoittaa myös kosteusvoiteeseen, jolloin lopputulosta on vieläkin helpompi säädellä. Veikkaisin myös, että erityisesti kuivaihoisille kosteusvoiteeseen sekoitettavat seerumit ja tipat voisivat olla kaikkein paras vaihtoehto. 

The most buildable: Self tanning serums 

Although you can build up your tan with the face mists too, the easiest way to build up the colour and glow is with a facial serum or self tanning drops. A tanning serum or drops can be applied directly to the face and by adjusting the amount of the product you can adjust the intensity of the result. More product means a more intense tan, and less product means a more toned down result. Tanning serums and drops can also be mixed with your moisturiser, which gives you even more control on how intense the tan will be. I'm also guessing that for people with really dry skin, mixing tanning serums or drips with moisturiser would be the best option. 

Atopik Self Tanning Toner

Nopein: Itseruskettava kasvovesi

Kaikkein nopein itseruskettava tuote kasvoille puolestaan on väriä ja hehkua tuova kasvovesi. Toki itseruskettavat suihkeetkin ovat nopeita käyttää, mutta jos kasvovesi kuuluu muutenkin osaksi ihonhoitorutiinia niin ruskettavaa kasvovettä käyttämällä rusketuksen saa suoraan ihonhoitorutiinin yhteydessä eikä rusketuksesta tule ns. ekstra steppiä ja vaivaa. Itseruskettava kasvovesi levitetään kasvoille pyyhkimällä kasvot huolellisesti kasvovedellä kostutetun vanulapun kanssa. Eli käyttäminen on ihan samanlaista ja yhtä helppoa kuin tavallisenkin kasvoveden. Sen jälkeen kasvoille voi levittää muut ihonhoitotuotteet ihan normaaliin tapaan. Itse levitänkin ruskettavan kasvoveden jälkeen kasvoille vielä silmänympärysvoiteen, kasvoseerumin ja kosteusvoiteen, enkä ole huomannut niiden vaikuttavan rusketuksen lopputulokseen mitenkään. 

The quick fix: Self tanning toner

The quickest way to add more colour to your complexion is a self tanning toner. Of course the tanning mists are quick to use as well, but if a toner is anyway part of your skincare routine then by using a tanning toner the tanning step can be easily built in to your routine and therefore tanning doesn't require any extra effort or steps. A tanning toner is applied to the face by adding a few drops of the toner onto a cotton pad and then sweeping your face carefully with it. So using a tanning toner is exactly like and just as easy as using a regular toner. After applying the toner you can continue with the rest of your skincare routine normally, and personally I add my eye cream, facial serum and moisturiser on top of the tanning toner and I haven't noticed them to affect the result of the tan in any way.

3 Products that Make Your Skin Smooth and Healthy

Pitkästä aikaa asiaa kauneudenhoidosta ja muutama tuotevinkki, edellisen kerran nimittäin postasin tuotesuosikkeja marraskuussa. Huh miten aika rientää! 

Vaikka blogin pääpaino on ja pysyy edelleen muodissa ja tyylissä, niin fiilistelen koko ajan yhä enemmän ja enemmän myös kauneudenhoitoa. Ja ihan erityisesti hyvien ihonhoitotuotteiden merkitys kasvaa kasvamistaan. Hyvät ja toimivat tuotteet on mulle kaiken a ja o, ja rakastankin kokeilla ja löytää uusia suosikkeja. Pyrin siihen, että ihoni näyttäisi mahdollisimman terveeltä, hehkuvalta ja tasaiselta, ja nämä kolme ihonhoitorutiiniini mukaan tullutta tuotetta auttavatkin juuri siinä. Ota siis vinkit talteen jos kevään ihonhoitorutiini kaipaa päivitystä!

Focusing on beauty and a few product recommendations again today, can't believe the last time I shared some of my favourite beauty products was back in November. Crazy how time flies! 

Although this blog focuses mostly on fashion and style, and will continue to do so, personally I'm getting increasingly interested in all things beauty related. It's especially good skincare products that become more and more important to me as time goes on, and I love trying and finding new favourites. When it comes to skin, my goal is to have a healthy, glowing and smooth complexion and these three products that I've added to my skincare routine help with that. So keep these recommendations in mind if your spring skincare routine needs updating! 

Ole Henriksen Lemonade Smoothing Scrub

Tässä kasvoille tarkoitetussa kuorinta-aineessa huomio kiinnittyy ihan ensimmäiseksi sen aivan huumaavaan tuoksuun. Tuoksu on täydellinen yhdistelmä kirpeyttä ja makeutta ja tuo mieleen jonkun ihanan sitruunaisen jälkiruuan. Mutta ei tämä kuitenkaan pelkän tuoksun vuoksi noussut heti mun suosikkeihin, vaan hyvän tuoksun lisäksi Lemonade Smoothing Scrub myös oikeasti kuorii tehokkaasti. Tuote kuorii ihoa sekä kemiallisesti sen sisältämien AHA-happojen ansiosta, että mekaanisesti sokerikiteiden avulla. Kuulostaa melko rajulta, mutta tuotteen sisältämät basilika ja kamomilla rauhoittavat ihoa, eli se on tehokas mutta hellävarainen. Käytön jälkeen iho tuntuu super pehmeältä, tasaiselta ja puhtaalta.

The thing you notice first with this facial exfoliator is the absolutely heavenly scent of it. The scent is the perfect balance of fresh and sweet, and reminds me of some kind of a delicious lemon dessert. However, it's not only because of the incredible scent that this product is a new favourite of mine, but the Lemonade Smoothing Scrub really works too. The product exfoliates both chemically and mechanically as it contains AHA acids and sugar grains. It might sound harsh, however the product also contains basil and chamomile that soothe the skin, so the product is effective yet gentle to use. My skin always feels super soft, even and clean after I've used this. 

Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Bright Power Soft Creme

Estée Lauderin meikeistä kovasti tykkäävänä sekä kaikkien kuulemieni kehujen ja kommenttien perusteella mulla oli odotukset korkealla kun pääsin testaamaan Estée Lauderin ihonhoitotuotteita. The Revitalizing Supreme+ Bright Power Soft Creme is a new moisturiser from the brand and contains e.g. glow-boosting vitamin C and moringa that advances the skin's renewal process. And I fell in love with this on the first use. I've been using the product as part of my morning and evening skincare routine as it hydrates really well but also absorbs quickly. It doesn't leave an oily or greasy residue so it works well under make up too!

Tästä Estée Lauderin Advanced Night Repair -seerumista olin ihan erityisen innoissani, koska tämä kulttituote on tullut niin monta kerta vastaan melkeinpä ylistävien kommenttien ja kehujen kanssa. Ja ilokseni voin todeta, että en todellakaan joutunut pettymään! Nimensä mukaisesti seerumi tekee töitään ja korjaa ihoa nimenomaan yöaikaan, jolloin iho uusiutuu muutenkin. I was especially excited about the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum, as I've come across this cult product so many times during the past few years and everyone has seemed to absolutely love it. And I'm happy to inform you guys that it definitely did not disappoint! As the name suggest, the serum works its magic and repairs the skin during night-time, which is when your skin's renewal process is going on anyway. The serum contains hydrating hyaluronic acid and protective antioxidants, and it also diminishes signs of ageing. I noticed the effect of this already on the first use as in the morning my skin looked and felt softer and smoother, and it evens out the skin tone too.

Harjaa hampaat aamuin illoin ja muista myös hammasvälit

Varmasti jokainen meistä tietää, että ensiaskel kauniiseen hymyyn on säännöllinen hampaiden harjaaminen vähintään kaksi kertaa päivässä kahden minuutin ajan. Alongside brushing your teeth, it is also important to clean between the teeth as you can get caries in there too. Käy säännöllisesti hammaslääkärin vastaanotolla hammastarkastuksessa

Säännölliset hammastarkastukset ovat myös tärkeä osa hymystä huolehtimista, sillä nimenomaan hammastarkastuksen yhteydessä voidaan löytää ne piilevät tai vasta aluillaan olevat seikat jotka vaikuttavat hampaiden hyvinvointiin ja sitä kautta hymyynkin ennemmin tai myöhemmin. Esimerkiksi alkavat reiät tai ientulehdus ovat asioita, jotka hammaslääkäri selvittää hammastarkastuksen yhteydessä, ja joihin hän osaa antaa myös ohjeet jatkoa varten.

Have frequent dental check-up appointments at the dentist's

Frequent dental check-ups are also an important part in taking care of your smile. It is exactly in these check-ups where a dentist can find the hidden or preliminary causes that might affect the health of your teeth and through that also your smile sooner or later. For example, preliminary caries and gingivitis are things that your dentist checks up on and can then give instructions on how to care for them. 

However, I'm raising my hand and saying that it had been way too long since my last dental check-up. I've had it on my to do list for ages, but I just have not gotten around actually booking an appointment as it has felt like such a tedious and painstaking task. Also the thought of having to travel who knows where early in the morning before work to have a check-up has not exactly been the most luring one. But now I finally have dental check-up crossed off from my to do list as I got to make use of the dental services at Terveystalo.

Ennakko-odotusteni vastaisesti koko prosessi oli kuitenkin todella sujuva aina ajan varaamisesta vastaanotolle asti. Ajanvaraus kävi helposti ja nopeasti suoraan Terveystalon Hammashoidon ajanvaraussivulta, ja pystyin itse rajaamaan vapaiden aikojen ehdotuksia sijainnin ja ajankohdan mukaan. Olin todella positiivisesti yllättynyt, kun lähin Terveystalon hammaslääkäriasema löytyikin kävelymatkan päästä kotoa, ja tarjolla oli myös paljon ilta- ja viikonloppuaikoja. Ei siis tarvinnut lähteä sumplimaan työaikataulujen kanssa. Varasin ajan torstai-iltana ja kävelin vastaanotolle jo lauantai-iltapäivänä, vaikka vapaita aikoja olisi ollut tarjolla myös aiemmin. Eikä tosiaan tarvinnut lähteä seikkailemaan minnekään pitkälle tai pelkäämään jälleen kerran julkisilla liikennevälineillä eksymistä, kun pystyin kävelemään vastaanotolle alle 20 minuutissa. Terveystalolla onkin hammaslääkärivastaanottoja kattavasti ympäri Helsinkiä, ja kaikki toimipisteet löytyvät täältä. 

Mitä varsinaiseen tarkastukseen tulee, vastaanotolla kaikki sujui helposti ja vaivattomasti. Käynti myös herätti minut vihdoin siihen, että sille on todellakin syynsä miksi hammastarkastuksissa pitäisi käydä säännöllisin väliajoin. Vaikka pidänkin hyvää huolta hampaistani, löytyi tarkastuksen yhteydessä kuitenkin muutamia alkavia reikiä. Sen lisäksi selvisi, että jo puolitoista vuotta sitten kesällä viikon tai pari minua vaivannut kipu oli kuin olikin puhjenneen viisaudenhampaan syytä, ja että sen poisto täytyy ottaa agendalle lähitulevaisuudessa. Hammas on kuulemma sen näköinen, että kipu voi palata kovana hetkenä minä hyvänsä. Ei siis todellakaan ollut mikään turha käynti, ja nyt osaan jatkossa kiinnittää entistä parempaa huomiota hampaiden hyvinvointiin ja säännöllisiin hammaslääkärikäynteihin. Ja siten tosiaan pidän jatkuvasti hyvää huolta tärkeimmästä ja parhaasta asusteestani, hymystä. 

On the contrary to my expectations though, the whole process was really smooth all the way from booking the appointment to actually going to the reception. Booking the appointment was easy and quick on the Terveystalo Dentist services booking page, and I could narrow down the times according to my preferred location and time. I was very positively surprised to find out that the closest Terveystalo with dentist's services is located just a short walk away form my home, and they also had lots of evening and weekend appointments available. So there was no need to make any arrangements to my work schedule. I booked the appointment Thursday evening and it was already Saturday afternoon when I walked to my appointment, and it wasn't even the first time available. And maybe the best thing was that I really didn't have to be afraid of getting lost using public transport again as I could just walk to my appointment in less than 20 minutes. Terveystalo has multiple dentist's receptions around Helsinki, and you can check all the locations here. 

As for the check-up per se, everything went really smoothly. The appointment also made me realise that there really is a good reason why you should have dental check-ups frequently. Although I do take good care of my teeth and dental hygiene, the dentist found preliminary caries. Alongside that, it came out that the soreness I had in my mouth a couple of summers ago was actually caused by a wisdom tooth which I have to have removed in the near future. Apparently the tooth looks like it could get painful again at any minute. So the appointment definitely was't a waste of time, and now I know to pay even better attention to my dental wellbeing and have frequent dentist's appointments in the future. And therefore I'm consistently taking care of my most important and best accessory, my smile.

Long time no favourite beauty product listing, as the last time I told you about my current beauty faves was back in July. I've been trying quite a few new skincare, make up and haircare products this autumn, and so today's post is all about the products I want to recommend to you as well! 

Meikit

Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue -meikkivoide. Tämä on ollut tänä syksynä mun go-to meikkivoide, jota olen käyttänyt ehdottomasti suurimpana osana niistä päivistä kun kasvoilla on ollut meikkiä. Koostumus on kevyt mutta peittävä, ja lopputulos luonnollinen. Nimensä mukaisesti meikkivoide tuntuu kosteuttavalta kasvoilla, ja tämä myös levittyy todella helposti ja tasaisesti. 

Essence Cosmetics Daily Dose of Love -luomiväripaletti. Essencen luomiväripaletti on ollut erittäin positiivinen yllättäjä, tässä on nimittäin todellakin hinta-laatusuhde kohdallaan! Paletissa on todella kauniit sävyt, ja matat ja glitteriset värit juuri täydellisessä balanssissa. Näissä on todella hyvä pigmentti, sävyt levittyy helposti, eivätkä luomivärit lähde varisemaan tai haalene päivän aikana. Tää on tosiaan ollut ehkä koko syksyn kaikkein positiivisin yllättäjä!

FLAER puuterisivellin. Olen täysin rakastunut FLAER-brändin pehmeisiin meikkisuteihin ylipäätään, mutta ehdottomaksi lemppariksi nousee tämä iso puuterisivellin. Suti on super pehmeä mutta kuitenkin tarpeeksi tiivis, ja pyöreähkön pään ansiosta sudilla on helppo mukailla kasvojen muotoa ja puuteria saa todella hyvin kaikkialle mihin haluaa. 

Make Up

Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue foundation. This has been my go-to foundation this autumn, and the one I've been using the most on the days when I've put make up on. The consistency is lightweight but the foundation gives a good amount of coverage leaving a natural looking finish. As the name suggests, this feels nice, moisturising and comfortable on the skin, and it applies easily and evenly. 

Essence Cosmetics Daily Dose of Love eyeshadow palette. This palette has been a very positive surprise as the ratio between price and quality is spot on! The shades in the palette are gorgeous, and there's a perfect balance of glittery and matte shades included. The eyeshadows are very pigmented, they are easy to apply, and they do not shed or fade during the day. This Essence eyeshadow palette truly has been the most positively surprising product of this autumn in my opinion! 

FLAER powder brush. I've completely fallen in love with the super soft FLAER make up brushes in general, but my personal favourite of them all is this big powder brush. The bristles are really soft but the brush is still quite dense. And thanks to the rounded shape the brush moves nicely along the contours of the face and applies the powder exactly where you want it to be. 

Xlash ripsiseerumi

Xlashin ripsiä kasvattavasta, vahvistavasta ja tummentavasta seerumista kirjoitinkin jo aiemmin tässä postauksessa. Olen nyt jatkanut seerumin käyttöä päivittäin aina iltaisin ihonhoitorutiinin päätteeksi ja ripsiin on todellakin tullut lisää pituutta. Nyt alan myös huomaamaan ripsien vahvistuneen ja tummuneenkin hieman, mutta suurin muutos on ehdottomasti tapahtunut ripsien pituudessa. 

Xlash eyelash serum

I already wrote about the lash growing, strengthening and darkening Xlash eyelash serum in this blogpost. I've now been continuing the daily use of the serum every night at the end of my skincare routine, and my lashes truly have gotten some added length to them. Now I'm slowly starting to notice my lashes being thicker and stronger too, and little by little they are also looking a bit darker. However, the biggest change has definitely been in the length of my lashes. 

Ihonhoito

ACO Age Delay seerumi. ACO lanseerasi muutama viikko sitten uuden Age Delay -sarjan, jonka tuotteet vähentävät ikääntymisen merkkejä iholla. Vaikka anti-age -tuotteet eivät tässä vaiheessa itselleni vielä kovin ajankohtaisia välttämättä olekaan, niin olen sitä mieltä että ehkäisevän työn voi hyvin aloittaa jo nyt ;) Age Delay -kasvoseerumi sisältää hyaluronihappoa, E-vitamiinia ja A-vitamiinia, eli se on todella kosteuttava ja tekee ihosta joustavamman. Itse ihastuin seerumissa erityisesti nimenomaan sen kosteuttavuuteen. Age Delay -kasvoseerumi imeytyy iholle nopeasti, eli se sopii hyvin myös meikin alle. 

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense -kosteusvoide. Aina syksyisin kasvojeni iho oikein huutaa kosteuttavien tuotteiden perään, ja sen takia Cliniquen uudesta super kosteuttavasta Moisture Surge Intense -kosteusvoiteesta on tullut yksi suosikeista. Intense versio on loogisesti edeltäjäänsä vieläkin kosteuttavampi ja koostumus myös 'kermaisempi'. Tänä syksynä ei tosiaan ole tarvinnut kärsiä kiristävän kuivasta ihosta, kun olen ottanut tämän osaksi jokailtaista ihonhoitorutiinia. Voide on testattu Siperiassa asti, eli ei ihmekään että se taistelee niin tehokkaasti ihon kuivuutta vastaan! 

Origins GinZing SPF 40 Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser -päivävoide. Tätä sävytettyä päivävoidetta olen käyttänyt niinä päivinä kun en ole halunnut niin sanotusti meikata kunnolla tai levittää kasvoille meikkivoidetta, mutta olen kuitenkin halunnut tasoittaa ihon sävyä ja tuoda kasvoille vähän ekstra hehkua. GinZing-päivävoide kosteuttaa ja virkistää ihoa, ja tuo niille tosiaan ihanasti hehkua ja kauniin kevyesti päivettyneeltä näyttävän värin. Iso plussa myös korkeasta suojakertoimesta! Ja kuten kaikki Origins GinZing -tuotteet, niin tämäkin tuoksuu ihanan sitruksiselta. 

Skincare

ACO Age Delay Serum. A few weeks ago ACO launched their new Age Delay range, and all of the products included combat against the signs of ageing. Although anti-age products are not exactly what my skin needs at this point in my life, my opinion is that there is no harm in starting the preventing work already ;) The Age Delay facial serum contains hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and vitamin A, and so it is super moisturising and increases the elasticity of the skin. And it is exactly the moisturising features of the serum that made it rise to the list of my favourite products. The Age Delay serum absorbs quickly into the skin too, so you can easily use it underneath make up as well. 

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense moisturiser. Every autumn my skin just screams for added moisture and hydration, and that's why the new and super moisturising Clinique Moisture Surge Intense has become one of my favourites this season. The Intense version is logically even more moisturising and hydrating than its predecessor and the consistency is creamier too. This autumn I haven't had to suffer with dryness on my face as I've been using this every night as part of my evening skincare routine. The moisturiser was actually tested in Siberia, so no wonder that it works so well against dryness! 

Origins GinZing SPF 40 Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser. This tinted moisturiser has been the one I've been reaching for on the days when I haven't wanted to properly put make up on, but I've still wanted to even out the colour of my skin and bring some extra glow to it. The GinZing tinted moisturiser hydrates and energises the skin, and brings a lovely and healthy glow to is, as well as a natural looking slightly sun kissed colour. A huge plus for the high SPF too! And just like all Origins GinZing products, this one also has a lovely citrusy scent. 

Hiukset

Ida Warg Repair Hair Mask -hiusnaamio. Syksyn aikana on tullut käytettyä kihartimia ja suoristusrautaa taas enemmän, minkä vuoksi hiuksetkin ovat lämpökäsittelyn myötä kuluneet aiempaa enemmän. Mulla on muutenkin kuiva hiuslaatu, ja vaikka lämpösuojaa aina käytänkin niin kuumentuvat muotoiluraudat ovat kuivattaneet hiuksia entisestään. Oonkin kunnostautunut hiusnaamioiden käytössä, ja tästä Ida Wargin Repair -naamiosta on tullut suosikki. Naamio nimenomaan korjaa vaurioituneita hiuksia, ja lisäksi se kosteuttaa, tekee hiuksista ihanan pehmeät ja silkkiset, sekä helposti harjattavat. Tuote on täysin vegaaninen, ja muiden Ida Wargin hiustuotteiden tapaan tässäkin on aivan ihana tuoksu.

Yves Rocher Universal Botanical Balm -hoitoaine. Tämä 'hiusvoide' on todellinen monitoimituote, ja sitä voi käyttää hiuksiin yöksi jätettävänä naamiona, päivisin täsmähoitona poistamaan pörröisyyttä ja helpottamaan kampausten tekoa, tai ennen hiusten föönaamista. Mulla tämä on ollut käytössä ennen hiusten kihartamista nimenomaan helpottamassa muotoilua ja poistamassa pörröisyyttä. Tämän avulla hiuksista tulee kauniin kiiltävät ja kiharat ovat pörröisen pallon sijaan kauniit ja pehmeät. 

Hair 

Ida Warg Repair Hair Mask. I've been using curling irons and straighteners more frequently this autumn, and so my hair has suffered the consequences. I've got quite a dry hair type to begin with, and even though I always use a heat protectant when using hot tools, my hair has dried out even more. That's why I've gotten better with using hair masks, and this Ida Warg Repair mask has become a firm favourite. The mask repairs damaged hair, adds moisture to my locks, makes the hair silky and soft, as well as easier to brush. The mask is also completely vegan, and like all the other Ida Warg hair products this mask smells lovely as well. 

Yves Rocher Universal Botanical Balm. This hair balm is a real multi-use product. You can use it as a leave-in hair mask during the night, as a day treatment to remove frizziness and make styling easier, or before blow drying. Personally I've used the balm before curling my hair to help with the styling and tame the frizz. The balm makes my hair look more shiny, and instead of my curls being one big frizzy ball they look beautiful and soft.

Longer Lashes, Naturally

Pitkät ripset on aina olleet jotenkin mun juttu. Meikissäkin tykkään korostaa mielummin silmiä kuin huulia, ja vaikka meikki olisi muuten kuinka kevyt tahansa, niin ripsiväriä mulla on aina, nimenomaan korostamassa silmiä ja tekemässä ripsistä pidemmän näköiset.

Long lashes have always been kind of my thing. I prefer accentuating my eyes over lips in my make up, and no matter how minimal my make up is otherwise, I always have mascara on to make my lashes look longer.

Mulla on ollut Xlash-ripsiseerumi käytössä nyt noin kolmen viikon ajan, ja lukemalla eteenpäin kuulet mun fiiliksiä, huomioita ja tuloksia joita olen viikkojen aikana havainnut.

Xlash Eyelash Serum is gentle, cruelty free and made of natural ingredients. The key ingredients are eyelash growth boosting biotin and rhodiola rosea root, as well as Myristoyl pentapeptide-17 that stimulates keratin production and therefore contributes to eyelash thickness and fullness. The serum is applied on the root of the upper lashes at night, and thanks to the thin eyeliner-like applicator the serum is super easy to use and apply exactly where needed. I've been using the Xlash Eyelash Serum for about 3 weeks now, so read on to find out my initial feelings, thoughts and results with the product.

Ovatko ripset pidemmät? 

Itse huomasin ripsien hieman pidentyneen jo noin 1,5 viikon käytön jälkeen. Toki tähän vaikuttaa varmasti se, että olen oikein tarkkailemalla tarkkaillut ripsien kasvua, ja niinpä pieniinkin muutoksiin kiinnittää itse aiempaa tarkemmin huomiota. Xlashin omien nettisivujen mukaan tulokset näkyvät henkilöstä riippuen yleensä 4-6 viikossa, mutta nopea karvankasvu kulkee meillä suvussa, mikä on varmasti omalla kohdallani vaikuttanut siihen että tuloksia tuli jo nopeammin. Olen myös joskus lukioaikoina käyttänyt ripsiseerumia, ja silloinkin muistan ripsien kasvaneen todella nopeaa tahtia. 

Are my lashes longer?

Personally I noticed my lashes having grown already after 1,5 weeks. Obviously I've been paying close attention to my lashes, so I've been more prone to notice even the tiniest changes. According to Xlash website, people usually get visible results after 4-6 weeks of using the serum. However, quick hair growth runs in our family and that is probably also why I've noticed results so soon after starting to use the product. I've used an eyelash serum during my high school years too, and I remember that back then I started to see results super quickly as well. 

Ovatko ripset paksummat?

Ripsien paksuuteen kiinnitin ensimmäistä kertaa huomiota nyt näiden kolmen viikon jälkeen. Ja pikemminkin ripsien tuuheuteen, kuin varsinaiseen paksuuteen. Sanoisin siis, että olemassa olevat ripset eivät ole paksuuntuneet tai vahvistuneet näkyvästi ainakaan vielä näin kolmen viikon jälkeen, vaan vanhojen ripsien pituuskasvun lisäksi joukkoon on alkanut kasvaa uusia ripsiä. 

Are my lashes thicker?

The first time I noticed any difference in the thickness of my lashes was now after I had been using the serum for three weeks. And even now I'd say it is increased fullness rather than thickness that I've noticed. So my existing lashes have not really gotten noticeable thicker, at least not during these three weeks, but it's more likely that new lashes have grown in among the older ones. 

Ovatko ripset tummemmat?

Ripsien värissä ja tummuudessa en ole huomannut muutosta. Ripset ovat edelleen samanväriset kuin käyttöjakson alkaessakin. Sanoisin jopa, että ripset ovat kasvaneet jopa vaaleampina kuin mitä oma, täysin luonnollinen ja orgaaninen ripsien kasvuni on. Tämä näkyy hyvin alapuolella olevista ennen ja jälkeen -kuvista, joissa ei sinällään näy merkittävää eroa, mutta viimeisissä ripsivärin kanssa otetuissa kuvissa ripsien pituuden ja tuuheuden huomaa selkeämmin. 

Are my lashes darker?

When it comes to the colour and darkness of my lashes, I have not noticed any changes and my lashes are still the same colour as at the beginning. I could even say that if anything, the growth that has happened in my lashes has been lighter in colour than what my totally natural and organic lash growth is. This is more noticeable in the before/after images below. You can't really see that big of a difference without mascara on, but if you look at the very last photos the length and fullness of my lashes is more noticeable. 

Ennen & jälkeen

Tosiaan, kuten todettu niin ylemmässä ennen/jälkeen -kuvassa eroa ei juurikaan huomaa, mutta alemmissa ripsivärin kanssa otetuissa kuvissa ripsien pituus ja tuuheus tulee huomattavasti selkeämmin esiin. Nämä ripsivärin kanssa otetut kuvat on molemmat napattu vasta tämän kolmen viikon jälkeen, ja näin jälkeenpäin harmittaa etten tajunnut ottaa myös ennen-kuvia ripsivärin kanssa niin olisi saanut paremmin vertailtua niitäkin. 

Xlash-ripsiseerumi riittää käytössä noin 2-3 kuukaudeksi, eli aion ehdottomasti jatkaa seerumin käyttöä vielä. Nyt kun näinkin lyhyessä ajassa olen tosiaan huomannut tuloksia ripsien pituudessa, niin uskon että jatkamalla päivittäistä käyttöä vielä muutaman viikon ajan tulee ripsistä myös paksummat ja tummemmat.

Before & after

Like said, the difference in the before/after photo is quite unnoticeable, but in the photos above where I've got mascara on you can see the eyelash length and fullness more easily. Both of the mascara photos have been taken after the 3-week period, and now in hindsight I regret not taking a 'before' photo with mascara on as well so it would be easier to compare. 

Xlash Eyelash Serum lasts for approximately 2-3 months in use, so I'm definitely going to continue with it daily. Especially now that I've already seen results in the length of my lashes in such a short period of time, I believe that by continuing using the serum for a few more weeks I'm going to see changes also in the thickness and darkness of my lashes.

Summer Beauty Favourites 2020

Edellisestä kauneuspostauksesta on ehtinyt vierähtää jo tovi, ja kesän aikana oon löytänyt monta uutta suosikkia osaksi mun kauneudenhoitorutiinia. Uusia suosikkeja löytyy niin ihonhoidosta, hiustenhoidosta, meikeistä, vartalonhoidosta kuin kynsilakoistakin, eli tässä siis kollektiivisesti kesän 2020 uudet kosmetiikkasuosikkini yhteen postaukseen koottuna! 

It's been a little while since my last beauty post, and during the summer I've found quite a few new favourite products to incorporate into my beauty routines. I've found new product favourites in skincare, haircare, make up, body care and nail polishes, and here you have a collective post all about my new summer 2020 beauty favourites! 

Ihonhoito // Skincare

Kasvojen puhdistuksessa ja meikkien pesussa oltaisin olen käyttänyt tanskalaisen IVY AÏAn puhdistusöljyä. Tällä meikit lähtee hellävaraisesti mutta tehokkaasti, eikä iholle jää käytön jälkeen ollenkaan öljyistä fiilistä, mikä mulla on tullut joistakin aiemmin käyttämistäni puhdistusöljyistä. IVY AÏAn tuotteita myydään apteekeissa, ja ne ovat vegaanisia, hajusteettomia ja allergia-testattuja. 

Mádaran Infinity Drops -seerumista on tullut osa aamujen ihonhoitorutiinia. Seerumi perustuu pohjoisen luonnon kasvien voimaan ja sisältää muun muassa beetaglukaania ja D-provitamiinia, ja se jättää iholle aivan ihanan raikkaan, kosteutetun ja pehmeän tunteen. Lisäksi seerumi vähentää punoitusta, mikä on tälle Petteri Punakuonolle aina tervetullut ominaisuus. Infinity Drops myös yllätti sillä, kuinka nopeasti se imeytyy kasvoille ja sopii siis myös meikin alle täydellisesti. 

Toinen Mádaran tuote, johon olen rakastunut kesän aikana on kasvoille tarkoitettu aurinkovoide. Oon nyt tänä kesänä kunnostautunut ihon suojaamisen kanssa oikein kunnolla, ja Mádaran SPF 30 Plant Stem Cell Age-Defying Face Suncreen on ollut oikeastaan päivittäisessä käytössä, satoi tai paistoi. Tämä imeytyy ja sulautuu kasvoihin todella hyvin, eikä iholle jää sitä usein aurinkovoiteille tyypillistä nihkeää tuntua. Aurinkovoide on kevyesti sävytetty, ja se toimii hyvin joko meikin alla tai ihan yksinään tuomassa kasvoille vähän tasaisempaa väriä. Aurinkovoiteessa on sekä UVA että UVB -suoja, eli tämän kanssa ei ole tarvinnut huolehtia mistään auringon haittavaikutuksista. 

Itseruskettavien osalta olen tänä kesänä tutustunut St. Tropezin paljon hehkutettuihin tuotteisiin, ja voin kyllä itsekin ehdottomasti yhtyä kehuihin. Mulla on ollut käytössä brändin Purity-sarja, jonka kasvosuihketta olen suihkutellut kasvoille noin 2-3 kertaa viikossa iltaisin viimeisenä steppinä ihonhoitorutiinissa. Tämän helpompaa itseruskettavaa tuskin on olemassakaan, tuotetta tosiaan vain suihkitaan kasvoille ja aamulla peilistä katsoo hieman hehkuvammat ja päivettyneemmät kasvot. Tämän kanssa ei ole myöskään tullut mitään mokia, eikä tyynyliinaankaan ole tarttunut väriä. 

Kesän kuorintavoidesuosikki on ollut Yves Rocherin heleyttävä luomukamomillaa sisältävä Glow Granita Scrub. Kuorintavoiteen koostumus on ihanan kermainen, eli se tuntuu hellävaraiselta kasvoilla. Käytön jälkeen iho tuntuu pehmeältä ja näyttää kuulaalta. Tuote on myös vegaaninen, ja 98% ainesosista on luonnollista alkuperää. Tämän kuorinnan tilasin itse asiassa myös mummulleni, joka kyseli tuotesuosituksia kasvojen kuorintaan 😄

For my evening cleanser and make up remover I've been using the IVY AÏA Cleansing Oil. It removes make up gently and effectively, but doesn't leave an oily residue that I've found with some other cleansing oils I've used in the past. IVY AÏA products are also vegan, fragrance-free, and allergy tested. 

Mádara Infinity Serum Drops have become an integral part of my morning skincare routine. The ingredients include e.g. mushroom beta-glucans and provitamin D, and it leaves such a lovely, fresh, hydrated and soft sensation to the skin. The serum also reduces redness, which is feature I always welcome with open arms. The Infinity Serum Drops also surprised me in a positive way in how well and quickly the product absorbs into the skin and so it also works perfectly under make up. 

Another Mádara product I've been loving this summer is the Plant Stem Cell Age-Defying Face Suncreen with SPF 30. I've really become better with my sunscreen this summer, and this has been on a pretty much daily use - rain or shine. The product is easy to apply and absorbs quickly, and it doesn't leave a sticky feeling to the skin either. It's lightly tinted and can be used under make up or on its own to make your complexion appear a little bit more even toned. It also includes both UVA and UVB shield, so you don't have to worry about any of the harmful impacts of the sun when wearing this. 

When it comes to self tan products, this summer I've been using the much hyped St. Tropez products, and I can safely say they really are worth the hype. I've been using the Purity product line, and spritzing the face mist onto my skin as a last step in my evening skincare routine 2-3 times a week. There probably isn't an easier facial self tanner than this, as you literally just spray it on your face and in the morning you wake up with a glowy sun kissed face. I haven't had any mishaps with this, nor has it stained my pillowcase. 

My face scrub favourite of the summer has been the Yves Rocher Glow Granita Scrub with chamomile. The consistency is super nice and creamy which makes the scrub feel really gentle on the skin. It makes my skin feel soft and look radiant. It's also vegan and 98% of the ingredients are naturally derived. I actually ordered this scrub also for my grandma when she was asking for face scrub recommendations 😄

Hiustenhoito // Haircare

Hiusten hoidossa olen aivan täysin rakastunut Ida Wargin tuotteisiin, ja ihastuttanut muun muassa siskoni tähän brändiin myös. Kosteuttava shampoo ja hoitoaine -kombo on tehnyt omasta kuivasta ja luonnonkiharasta tukastani pehmeämmän ja sileämmän kuin mitä se on ollut pitkään aikaan. Näistä tuli ihan ehdottomasti mun uudet luottotuotteet! Ida Wargin Dry Volume Spray puolestaan on ollut käytössä kampausten viimeistelyssä, nimensä mukaisesti tuomassa tukkaan vähän volyymia ja esimerkiksi kiharoihin pitoa. Oon aiemmin ollut jotenkin todella laiska kaikkien tuuhentavien suihkeiden ja muiden "lisästeppien" suhteen, mutta halusin antaa tälle mahdollisuuden ja nyt se on tosiaan käytössä aina kun olen tehnyt hiuksille jotain muutakin kuin vain antanut niiden olla ihan luonnontilassaan. Ja siis näiden tuotteiden tuoksu! Kunpa pystyisin jotenkin levittämään sitä vaniljan ja toffeen yhdistelmää näin ruudun välityksellä teillekin. 

As for haircare, I've absolutely fallen in love with the Ida Warg products. I also introduced my little sister to these, and she loves them too. The moisturising shampoo and conditioner have made my dry and naturally curly hair softer and smoother than what it's been in a long long time. These have definitely become my new holy grail products! The Ida Warg Dry Volume Spray is what I've been using after curling my hair to make the curls last longer and add more volume to my hair. I used to be super lazy when it came to 'extra steps' like this, but after giving the Dry Volume Spray a chance it has been in use every time I've done something else to my hair than just letting them be in their natural state. And the scent of these products, you guys! I wish I could somehow distribute the vanilla and caramel scent over to you through the screen. 

Meikit // Make Up

Lumenen meikkejä ja erityisesti ripsivärejä olen suosinut jo vuosikaudet, eikä tämä keväällä lanseerattu Birch Black Volume -ripsivärikään tuottanut pettymystä. Nimensä mukaisesti maskara tekee ripsistä mustat ja tuuheat, ja harjakset myös erottelee ripset hyvin. Tämä ei ole lähtenyt kesähelteilläkään valumaan tai tarttunut yläluomeen, mutta on ollut silti helppo pestä iltaisin pois. 

Mulla oli pitkä kausi kun käytin hädintuskin mitään muita huulituotteita kuin ihan vain perus rasvaa, mutta tämä Kicksin Lip Cream Silky Soft -huulipuna 'Saturday' -sävyssä muutti tilanteen. Ihan täydellinen jokapäivän sävy ja ihanan kermainen mattakoostumus, joka ei tunnu kiristävältä tai kuivata huulia. 

I've been using and loving Lumene products for years and I'm a big fan of their mascaras especially, and the Birch Black Volume mascara that launched this Spring has not been a disappointment either. As the name suggests, the mascara makes the lashes black and full of volume, and the bristle brush also separates lashes well. The mascara hasn't run or transferred to the upper lid even on the hottest of summer days, but it still comes off easily when washed off at the end of the day. 

I had a long phase when I barely used any other lip products than just a regular lip balm, but this Kicks Lip Cream Silky Soft lipstick in the shade 'Saturday' changed that. It is just the perfect everyday nude shade, and has a lovely creamy matte consistency that doesn't feel uncomfortable or dry out the lips. 

Vartalonhoito // Body Care

Avènen XeraCalm -vartalovoide on ollut mun kuivan kesäihon pelastaja. Niiden kaikkein kuumimpien helteiden aikaan erityisesti säärien iho oli ihan hilseilevän kuiva, mutta hilseily ja kuivuus helpottivat kyllä nopeasti tämän vartalovoiteen myötä. Kuivan karheat polvet ja kyynärpäät ovat myös pehmentyneet, mitä ei oikeastaan mikään aiemmin kokeilemani vartalovoide onnistunut tekemään. Tästä tosin varoituksen sanana se, että koostumus on todella paksua ja rasvaista ja iholle kyllä jää myös sen mukainen tuntu levityksen jälkeen. Tämä on kuitenkin auttanut mun ihon kuivuuteen niin paljon, että hieman tahmea tunne ei ole häirinnyt, varsinkin kun levittää iltaisin suihkun jälkeen.

St. Tropezin ruskettavan kasvosuihkeen lisäksi olen tuonut vartalolle väriä ja hehkua Purity-sarjan tuotteilla, joista erityisesti tämä Bronzing Water Gel on ihastuttanut. Nimestäkin voi jo päätellä että tuotteen koostumus on nimenomaan geelimäinen ja olen kokenut sen todella helpoksi levittää. Geeli myös tuntuu kosteuttavan ihoa paremmin kuin vaikkapa saman sarjan perinteisempi mousse. Geeli tuo iholle kevyen päivetyksen ja hehkun, ja toimii paremmin rusketuksen ylläpitäjänä kuin ihan täysin uuden värin tuojana. Bronzing Water Gel onkin ollut käytössä aina pari kertaa viikossa, nimenomaan ylläpitämässä ihon hehkua ja kevyttä päivetystä. Koko sarjalle myös iso plussa kivasta tuoksusta ja siitä ettei tuotteita tarvitse erikseen huuhdella pois. 

Yves Rocherin tiivistetyt suihkugeelit on olleet yksi kesän mielenkiintoisimmista tuotelöydöistä. Pieneen 100ml pulloon on nimenomaan tiivistetty tuotetta niin paljon, että määrä vastaa 400ml tavallista suihkugeeliä. Tästä ominaisuudesta Yves Rocher on muuten saanut tälle tuotteelle myös patentin! Itse rakastan vaniljan tuoksua joten olen ollut erityisen ihastunut tähän bourbonvanilja-versioon. Juuri tässä tuoksussa on myös nostalgiaa, mulla on nimittäin joskus vuosia vuosia sitten ollut hajuvesi nimenomaan tässä samassa vaniljan tuoksussa. 

What's saved my dry skin this summer, is the Avène XeraCalm body lotion. At one point this summer it got to the stage where my skin was so dry that it basically started to peel off, but the dryness and peeling stopped when I started to use this body lotion. The rough skin that I usually have on my knees and elbows has also gotten smoother, which is something any of the body lotions I've used before have not managed to do. A word of warning with this one though, because it is such a moisturising product the consistency is also very thick and it does leave a rather sticky feeling onto the skin. However, this has alleviated the dryness of my skin so well that the stickiness has been worth it in my opinion. Especially as I use this at night after showering, so it doesn't stick to the clothes I wear during the day. 

Alongside the St. Tropez tanning face mist, I've been using the body products from the Purity line too and I've especially loved the Bronzing Water Gel. As the name suggests, the consistency of the product is very gel like, and I love how easy it is to apply. The gel also feels more hydrating than e.g. the more regular mousse from the same range. The Bronzing Water Gel adds a light glow and bronze onto the skin, and it works better in maintaining a more proper tan rather than as a product to use to apply a totally new tan, if that makes sense. I've been using this a couple of times a week in exactly that purpose to maintain a little bit of glow on my skin. The whole range also gets thumbs up for the nice scent and the fact that you don't have to rinse them off after applying.

The Yves Rocher condensed shower gels have been one of the most interesting product discoveries of the summer. The little 100ml bottle provides as much product as a 400ml bottle of regular shower gel would. The brand has actually gotten a patent for this product exactly because of this condensed feature! Personally I love vanilla scents, so I've been especially fond of this bourbon vanilla version of the product. It brings up nostalgia too, as I used to have a perfume in this exact same scent many many years ago. 

Kynnet // Nails

Viimeisenä vielä muutamat kynsilakkalempparit! Nyt ihan hiljattain Kicksissä lanseerattu Atelier Rouge ihastutti ihan ensimmäiseksi upealla brändäyksellään, mutta ihastuin myös brändin kauniisiin punaisiin lakkoihin sekä kynsienhoitotuotteisiin. Kynsilakkojen lisäksi sarjaan kuuluu myös muun muassa lasiviila ja kosteuttava tehohoito kynsinauhoille, joista varsinkin jälkimmäinen on ollut ahkerassa käytössä. 

Alkukesällä mun kynsissä taas oli oikeastaan lähes poikkeuksetta Yves Rocherin Go Green -lakkaa ihanissa nudeissa sävyissä. Go Green -lakat ovat olleet positiivinen yllätys siinä, kuinka hyvä pigmentti niissä on. Lakoissa käytetyt liuottimet ovat kasviperäisiä, esimerkiksi juurikkaasta tai puusta valmistettuja, mistä sarja saa ehdottomasti lisäpisteitä!

Ja pitihän mun vielä ihan viimeiseksi ottaa myös tämä super söpö Dependin kynsilakka mukaan, koska mun lilarakkaudelle ei näy loppua 💜

And lastly a few nail polish favourites! Atelier Rouge range was recently launched in Kicks in the Scandinavian countries, and what first drew me in was that absolutely beautiful branding. However, I do love the products too and the range consists of different kinds of red nail polishes and nail care products such as a glass file and overnight treatment for cuticles. 

At the start of the summer it was usually the Yves Rocher Go Green nail polishes in beautiful nude tones that I had on my nails. The Go Green line surprised me with how good the pigment is, especially since the solvents used in this particular range are naturally derived and come from e.g beetroots and wood. 

And obviously I couldn't leave out the super cute nail polish from Depend, as there just seems to be no end in sight for my love for all things lilac 💜
