Päätetään Madridin matkapostaukset muutamalla kivalla ravintolavinkillä! Niin kuin tässä aiemmassa postauksessa mainitsinkin, on Madridista tulossa oikea gastronomian keskus, ja kaupunki on hyviä ravintoloita täynnä. Opiskelijabudjetilla liikenteessä ollessa skipattiin ne valkoiset pöytäliinat ja michelin-ravintolat ihan suosiolla, mutta löydettiin silti monta kivaa ruokapaikkaa. Tässä tuleekin siis kolme ravintolasuositusta Madridiin, kannattaa ehdottomasti laittaa muistiin jos on kaupunkiin suuntaamassa.
Lets finish the Madrid travel posts with a few nice restaurant tips! As I already mentioned in this previous post, Madrid is becoming a true gastronomic centre, and the city is full of nice restaurants. However, as we were travelling on a student budget we decided to skip the white table cloths and michelin star places altogether, but we still found many good places to eat in. So here's my three restaurant tips to Madrid, definitely worth taking a note if you're going to visit the city.
Upeat puitteet ja jokaiselle jotakin: Platea
Platea on ruokatori-tyyppinen konsepti, eli sieltä löytyy varmasti jokaiselle syötävää. Ruokailutilan reunoilla olevilta tiskeiltä toimitetaan pöytiin toki tapaksia, mutta myös esimerkiksi pizzaa, pastaa, sushia, ja salaatteja. Kaikki annokset on myös listattuna samaan menuun ja tarjoilijat toimittavat tilaukset pöytiin, joten itse ei tarvitse tehdä muuta kuin istua alas ja päättää mitä tilata. Monikerroksinen Platea pitää sisällään myös erillisen tapas-baarin, cocktail-baarin, bistron ja klubin, kaikki yhden ja saman hulppean rakennuksen sisällä. Kannattaa siis käydä vaan vaikka ihailemassa itse paikkaa, vaikkei syömään tai juomaan jäisikään!

Gorgeous setting and something for everyone: Platea
Platea is a food market type of concept, so there's certainly something for everyone to eat. From the counters surrounding the actual eating area you can order of course tapas, but also e.g. pizza, pasta, sushi, and salads. All the dishes are listed on one same menu and as the waiters bring your order to the table, all you have to do is sit down and actually decide what to order. Platea stretches to multiple floors, and has also a separate tapas bar, cocktail bar, bistro, and a club inside one single venue. This is definitely worth just seeing as well, even if you don't stay to eat!
Churroja 24/7: Chocolatería San Ginés
Oikeasti ympäri vuorokauden auki oleva Chocolatería San Ginés tarjoilee churroja ja kaikkea muutakin suklaista iski makeannälkä sitten mihin vuorokaudenaikaan tahansa. Juhlijoita ajatellen paikka vielä sijaitseekin ihan kulman takana suositusta Joy-yökerhosta ;) Me tosin suunnattiin Chocolateréa San Ginésiin ihan vaan myöhäisillan churroille, jotka olikin samalla mun elämäni ensimmäiset churrot! Paikka on avattu jo vuonna 1894 ja sisustus on edelleen hauskan vanhanaikainen, joten täältä saa ehdottomasti autenttisen espanjalaisen churro-kokemuksen.

Churros 24/7: Chocolatería San Ginés
Chocolatería San Ginés is actually open 24/7, so you'll be able to satisfy your sweet tooth with churros or something else chocolatey no matter the time of the day. And for the clubbers, the place is very conveniently located just around the corner from a popular Joy nightclub ;) We headed to Chocolatería San Ginés for some late night churros, which by the way were the first churros I've ever had in my life! The place was opened already on 1894 and the interiors have been kept old fashioned, so you'll definitely get an authentic Spanish churro experience here.
Tapaksia ja drinkkejä: Inclan Brutal Bar
Tätä pienellä sivukujalla olevaa paikkaa ei kyllä oltaisi millään löydetty, ellei oltaisi lähdetty yhden innokkaan sisäänheittäjän mukaan. Onneksi kuitenkin lähdettiin, sillä Inclan Brutal Bar osoittautui ehkä koko reissun kivoimmaksi ravintolaksi. Sisustus, ruoka ja drinkit olivat kaikki mun makuun, ja täällä myös yksi tarjoilijoista puhui todella hyvin englantia, mikä helpotti asioimista huomattavasti. Taustalla soiva musiikki luo ihanan rennon fiiliksen, ja vietettiinkin täällä tyttöjen kanssa pidemmän aikaa syöden, juoden, ja jutellen. Inclan Brutal Barissa oli myös kasvisruokailijat huomioitu hyvin, tosin menuun on eksynyt ylimääräinen V-kirjain ham croquette -annoksen kohdalle, eikä kasvisvaihtoehtoa tosiaan ole siis edes saatavilla. Mutta paikasta jäi muuten kyllä kiva fiilis, ja voin ehdottomasti suositella Inclan Brutal Baria hyville tapaksille ja drinkeille.

Tapas and drinks: Inclan Brutal Bar
We definitely wouldn't have found this place situated on a small alley if it wasn't for one very enthusiastic bar/restaurant rep. But I'm really happy that we eventually let the rep to show us the way, as Inclan Brutal Bar turned out to be probably the nicest restaurant we visited during the whole trip. I really liked the decor, the food, and the drinks, and one of the waiters also knew english quite well which made things a whole lot easier. The background music creates such a nice, relaxed atmosphere to the restaurant, and we spent quite a long while here just eating, drinking, and chatting with the girls. Inclan Brutal Bar also caters to vegetarians, although there's a tiny extra V on the menu next to the ham croquette -dish, and no vegetarian croquettes are even available. But other than that, I really liked the whole vibe of the restaurant and I can definitely recommend Inclan Brutal Bar for good tapas and drinks.
