5 Current Beauty Favourites

Viime viikkojen aikana on taas löytynyt muutamia uusia loistavia kauneustuotteita niin kasvoille, keholle, hiuksille kuin meikkiinkin. Tässäpä siis viisi tämänhetkistä kauneustuotesuosikkia, jakakaa ihmeessä kommenteissa teidän tän hetken lemppareita!

During the past few weeks I've found some great new beauty products for face, body, hair as well as for my makeup routine. Therefore today I'm sharing my five current favourite beauty products, and I would love to hear which products you're loving at the moment too! 

Laura Mercier Transluscent Loose Powder

Tämä Laura Mercierin kulttimaineen saavuttanut irtopuuteri on ollut mun haavelistalla jo varmasti useamman vuoden ajan, mutta vasta nyt vihdoin synttäreiden kunniaksi ja Feel Uniquen -20% synttärialennuksen kannustamana päätin vihdoin ja viimein tilata sen. Ja meni kyllä muuten heti suosikkimeikkien joukkoon, tää on ehkä jopa paras puuteri mitä oon koskaan käyttänyt! Tämä väritön irtopuuteri jättää ihon aivan mielettömän pehmeän ja mattaisen tuntuiseksi, pitää kiillon hyvin kurissa useamman tunnin ajan, eikä muuten edes pöllyä ympäriinsä niin paljon kuin aluksi pelkäsin.

This Laura Mercier cult powder has been on my wishlist for years, but it was only a couple of weeks ago I finally bought it for myself as a birthday treat and incentivised by the -20% Feel Unique birthday voucher. And it instantly became one of my favourite make up products, this might even be the best powder I've ever used! The translucent powder leaves my skin feeling super soft and matte, controls shine for several hours, and it's actually easier to apply than I thought it would be considering that it's a loose formula.

Lola Makeup Ultra High Shine Gloss '006' (gifted)

Oon pikkuhiljaa alkanut käyttämään enemmän värejä huulimeikissä pitkään kestäneen nude-kauden jälkeen ja aina näin kevään tullessa tulee usein myös valittua huulikiilto huulipunan sijaan. Lola Makeup -brändin ihanaan pinkkiin kiiltoon ihastuin sillä sen pigmentti on omaan makuuni juuri sopiva, eikä kiilto muunna huulia shokeraavan pinkeiksi vaan pikemminkin antaa niille kauniin pinkin vivahteen. Lola Makeupille myös pisteet siitä että brändin tuotteet on cruelty free. 

Little by little I'm getting more into brighter and more colourful lips after a really long nude phase, and during spring time I also tend to choose lipglosses instead of lipsticks on a more frequent basis. The pink lipgloss from Lola Makeup has just the right amount of pigment to my liking, as it doesn't make my lips a shocking shade of pink but rather adds a lovely pink hue. Lola Makeup also gets points for being a cruelty free brand. 

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo

Mulla on tällä hetkellä menossa kunnon projekti hiusten tuuheammaksi saamisen kanssa, sillä se lapsuuden ja teinivuosien paksu ja vahva tukka on tällä hetkellä lähinnä muisto vain. Oonkin koittanut huijata tukkaan lisävolyymia Aussien Aussome Volume shampoon avulla, ja vaikkei tämäkään toki ihmeitä tee niin oon silti ollut shampooseen todella tyytyväinen. Tää jättää tukan ihanan kevyen ja ilmavan tuntuiseksi eikä latista hiuksia päälakea vasten kuten monilla muilla shampoilla on tapana. Ja Aussien tuotteiden tuoksun ihanuudestahan nyt ei ole kiistelemistä!

At the moment I'm really trying to add more volume and thickness to my hair, as the thick and strong mane of my childhood and teenage years is basically just a memory now. Therefore I've been trying to 'cheat' some added volume to my hair with the Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo, and although it doesn't do miracles I've still been really happy with the product. This makes my hair feel light and airy and doesn't weight it down at all, which is something I find a lot of other shampoos tend to do quite often. And you simply can't beat the heavenly scent of Aussie products! 

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel

Mun on tunnustettava, että ennen kuin sain kaveriltani synttärilahjaksi muutamia Lushin tuotteita, oli brändin tuotteet ihonhoitoa lukuunottamatta mulle oikeastaan aika vieraita. Juuri esimerkiksi suihku- tai vartalotuotteista mulla ei ollut entuudestaan ollenkaan kokemusta. Nyt parin viikon jälkeen ja tämän Rose Jam -suihkugeelin myötä oon kuitenkin ihastunut brändin suihkutuotteisiin itsekin. Rose Jam tuoksuu nimensä mukaisesti ruusuilta, vaahtoaa juuri sopivasti ja jättää jälkeensä ihanan pehmeän tunteen ja kevyen ruusun tuoksun joka säilyy iholla pitkään.

I have to admit that before getting a few Lush products as a birthday present from a friend, I wasn't too familiar with any other Lush products than some skincare bits. For example shower and body products were exactly something I had no experience from. Now after a couple of weeks of using the Rose Jam shower gel I've fallen in love with the Lush shower products too. As the name suggests, Rose Jam smells of roses, it lathers up just the perfect amount when applied on the skin, and it leaves behind a soft feeling and a light rosy scent that lingers on the skin for a few hours.

Kiehl's Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate (gifted)

Okei, ryppyjä ehkäisevät ihonhoitotuotteet ei ehkä ole itselleni vielä kovin ajankohtaisia, mutta tästä Kiehl'sin Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate -seerumista tykkään kyllä muistakin kuin ryppyjä ehkäisevistä syistä! Seerumi sisältää muun muassa C-vitamiinia ja hyaluronihappoa, jotka tekee ihosta hehkuvan, tasaisen ja pehmeän. Seerumia suositellaan käytettäväksi aamuin illoin, mutta itse olen kokenut tarpeelliseksi levittää tätä kasvoille vain aamuisin, sillä ihon pintaa tasoittavien ominaisuuksien ansiosta seerumi toimii todella hyvin myös meikin alla.

Okay, line reducing and preventing products are probably not very current to me yet, but there are other reasons why I really like this new Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate from Kiehl's. The serum contains e.g. vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, which make the skin radiant, soft and smooth. The serum is recommended to be used as part of your morning and evening skincare routine, but personally I've felt like I only need to use this once a day. Therefore I've been applying the serum as part of my morning skincare as thanks to the smoothing properties it works really well under makeup too.

Spring Bag Trends

Vaikka kuinka neuleita, takkeja ja kerrospukeutumista rakastankin, niin kyllä alkaisi mulle jo pikkuhiljaa nämä talviset asukokonaisuudet riittämään. Onneksi nyt näyttäisi ja tuntuisi kuitenkin siltä, että lämpötilat on nousemaan päin ja pääsee taas pitkän tauon jälkeen korkkaamaan kevyemmät takit ja keväisemmät kengät. Lontoosta löytyneitä ihania vintage Stuart Weitzmanejakaan en ole päässyt ulkoiluttamaan vielä kertaakaan, eli sormet ristiin että pian on niiden aika päästä ulos! Fiilis ja inspiraatio pukeutumisen suhteen on muutenkin ollut viime aikoina vähän hukassa, minkä kyllä pistän ihan täysin tämän kylmän ja surkean kelin piikkiin.

No matter how much I love jumpers, coats and layers, I'm more than done with these wintery looks right now. Luckily it seems and feels like the temperatures are slowly starting to rise again, and I'll be able to wear my lighter jackets and spring shoes after a long time again. I haven't even worn my vintage Stuart Weitzman flats properly yet, so fingers crossed they'll get their first outing soon too! I've felt quite unmotivated with fashion in general lately, and I definitely put that down to the rather cold and miserable weather. 



Iloa harmauteen tuo kuitenkin supersöpö Sri Lankasta löytynyt pikkulaukku, joka ainakin Instagramin puolella ihastuttaa monia muitakin. Ympyräkahvaiset laukut oli vahvasti pinnalla jo viime syksynä, ja mulla on kyllä sellainen fiilis että tämä trendi tulee jatkamaan isona hittinä vielä tänäkin sesonkina. Toinen aivan megaiso laukkuhitti taas tänä kesänä on muuten ne ah-niin-ihanat kori- ja olkilaukut, joiden suosio on ihan räjähtänyt taas muutaman viime viikon aikana kevään lähestyessä. Tänä vuonna laukkuja tuntuu myös olevan tarjolla useammissa kokoluokissa, muodoissa, malleissa ja väreissä viime vuoteen verrattuna. Topshopin söpö pyöreä versio on ainakin näkynyt mun Insta-feedillä nyt niiiin moneen kertaan, että kohta varmaan sorrun hankkimaan sen itsekin.

A little spark of joy in this greyness, however, is that cute little bag that I found in Sri Lanka, and it's also one that tends to generate a lot of compliments over on Instagram. The circle handle bags were a huge trend last autumn, but I have a strong feeling that this trend will continue as a big hit this season too. Another huge trend this spring and summer is, again, those oh-so-lovely basket and straw bags. Their popularity has absolutely exploded during these past few weeks as spring is getting closer, stores are rolling out their S/S stock and people are shopping for their S/S wardrobes. This year there also seems to be a lot more variety with the basket and straw bags compared to last year, with a size, shape, model and colour to suit any and every taste. That super cute, round Topshop version has been all over my Instagram feed so many times now that I'll probably give in and get myself one soon too.

Toinen tällä hetkellä iloa elämään tuova juttu on pikku hiljaa loppuaan lähenevä toinen yliopistovuosi. Vielä on yksi isompi projekti ja muutama palautettava tehtävä hoidettavana, ennen kuin sitten toukokuun alussa on aika sanoa Glasgow'lle heipat kesän ajaksi. Viime vuodesta poiketen tulen siis tänä vuonna koko kesäksi Suomeen, ja oon tästä kyllä niin innoissani! Veljen ylioppilasjuhlat, uusi talo, mielenkiintoinen duuni ja toivottavasti myös lämpimät terassi-illat ystävien kanssa tekee tästä kesästä varmasti viime vuoden kesää sata kertaa paremman. Niin ja se Suomessa majaileva äidin ihana korikassi, jonka suunnittelin lainaavani kesäksi käyttööni ;)

Another thing that's bringing happiness to my life right now is the fact that I'm getting close to the end of my second year in uni. We've still got one bigger project to work on and deliver, as well as a couple of smaller assignments to hand in before it's time to stay goodbye to Glasgow for the summer at the start of May. Unlike last year, this year I'll be spending the whole summer back home in Finland, and I couldn't possibly be any more excited! My brother's graduation at the start of June, the new house, an interesting job and hopefully many a warm summer night spent with my friends will undoubtedly make this summer at least a hundred times better than the last one. That, and mum's basket bag that I'm planning on borrowing during the summer months ;)

Glasgow Coffee Guide

"Coffee is my driver" lukee yhdessä mun kangaskasseista, eikä mun tägääminen erilaisiin kahviin liittyviin meemeihin ole jäänyt vain yhteen tai kahteen kertaan. Tie mun sydämeen käy siis ehdottomasti kahvin kautta, eikä yksikään päivä käynnisty ilman rauhallista hetkeä aamukahvin kanssa. Rakastan kaikissa söpöissä kahviloissa istuskelua ja niitä onneksi täällä Glasgow'ssa myös riittää! Tässä muutamat mun suosikkipoiminnat Glasgow'n kahvilatarjonnasta, ehkä tästä pienestä kahvioppaasta on apua mikäli joku siellä ruudun toisella puolella on matkaamassa näille suunnille!

'Coffee is my driver' says one of my canvas bags, and it's not only one or two times that I've been tagged in different coffee related memes. Coffee is without a doubt the way to my heart, and not a day goes by that I don't start my morning with a cup of my favourite drink. I love discovering cute new coffee shops, and luckily there are plenty of those here in Glasgow! Here are a few of my favourite picks from the Glasgow coffeeshop scene, and I hope you will find this coffee guide helpful if you ever need to find a nice coffeeshop in Glasgow! 

Grain and Grind

Melko uusi kahvilatuttavuus, jonne suuntasin yhtenä iltapäivänä tekemään hommia mutta joka kyllä vakuutti heti niin miljööllään kuin kahvillaankin! Melko pieni mutta kuitenkin avara paikka, jossa hengaili mielellään musiikin soidessa taustalla. Tiskiltä löytyy myös ihan älyttömän hyvännäköisiä leipiä ja leivonnaisia, ja täältä saa napattua kokonaisen leivän myös mukaan.

A fairly recent coffeeshop find from a few weeks back, but one that I instantly liked when walking inside one day for a couple of hours of work. Quite a small but airy space with good coffee and nice background music, so I definitely enjoyed my couple of hours in here. You'll also find absolutely amazing looking treats on the counter, and you can even grab a whole loaf of bread with you from here. 

Cafe Strange Brew
1082 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow, G41 3XA

Ehkäpä mun suosikkikahvila koko Glasgow'ssa! Tää on se paikka, jonne haluan aina viedä kaikki vierailemaan tulevat, ja kaikki ovat tähän mun suosikkiin myös rakastuneet. Ihan loistava aamiais-/brunssipaikka herkullisilla ja hyvänkokoisilla annoksilla, ja erityismaininta paikan avocado toastille ja pannareille. Kahvina Cafe Strange Brew käyttää Dear Green -paahtimon kahvia, joka puolestaan kahvin osalta on mun suosikki koko Glasgow'ssa. 

Probably my favourite cafe in the whole Glasgow! This is exactly the place I always want to take everyone who's visiting, and so far everyone else has fallen in love with the place too. Just the perfect brekkie / brunch spot with generously sized portions, and a special mention goes out to their avocado toast and pancakes. As for their coffee, Cafe Strange Brew uses Dear Green roasters which is hands down my favourite coffee you can in Glasgow. 

For Fika Sake

Todella söpö, kotoisa ja nimensä mukaisesti hyvin Skandi-tyylinen kahvila, jossa järjestetään myös erilaisia workshopeja ja esimerkiksi jooga-tunteja. Täällä tulee jotenkin vähän sellainen mummola-fiilis sohvineen ja puupöytineen. Hyviä vaihtoehtoja lounaaksi ja superherkullisia vegaaniherkkuja.

A super cute and cosy cafe, and as the name would suggest sprinkled with Scandi vibes. And not only is the space a cute coffeeshop, but you can also attend different workshops and e.g. yoga classes. In here you almost feel like having coffee at your grandma's house as the space is furnished with couches and wooden tables. As for food, you'll find great lunch options and amazing vegan treats. 

Gordon Street Coffee
Glasgow Central Station, 79 Gordon Street, Glasgow, G1 3SQ 

Superkätevästi Glasgow'n päärautatieasemalla sijaitseva kahvila, joka on kaikkea muuta kuin se perinteisesti juna-asemalta löytyvä pieni kuppila. Keskeisestä sijainnista huolimatta todella viihtyisä kahvila, joka käyttää paikan päällä paahdettua kahvia eli kahvin tuoreus on ainakin taattu! Ulkopuolella oleva kyltti myös aina ilahduttaa mua hauskoilla teksteillään, tästä kun tulee kuljettua ohi melkeinpä päivittäin. Opiskelijoille muuten 10% alennus, eli opiskelijakortit mukaan!

Located super conveniently at the Glasgow Central Station but actually nothing like the tiny and miserable cafe you'd usually associate with train stations. Despite the very central location the coffeeshop feels really cosy, and they actually roast and grind their coffee right there in the shop, so the freshness of the coffee is definitely guaranteed! They also always have the cutest sign with the funniest massages standing outside and it never fails to put a smile on my face when I walk past. Oh, and students get 10% off so don't forget to bring your student card!

Lagom Kitchen
76 Victoria Rd, Glasgow, G42 7AA

Uusin kahvilatuttavuus, jossa käytiin ystävän kanssa mun synttäribrunssilla tasan viikko sitten. Glasgow'ssa tuntuu vallitsevan ihan kunnon Skandinavia-villitys, kun näitä skandi-viboin viimeisteltyjä kahviloita näyttää aukeavan kuin sieniä sateella. En tosin valita, tääkin oli aivan ihana uusi tuttavuus! Istumapaikkoja on melko vähän ja kahvila on todella suosittu, joten kannattaa varautua odottamaan. Mutta ainakin mun täysin vegaaninen pannaripino oli odottamisen arvoinen!

The most recent coffee shop find from exactly a week ago when we headed to Lagom Kitchen for my birthday brunch with a friend. I feel like some kind of a Scandinavia boom has taken over Glasgow recently as there always seems to be a new Scandi inspired coffee shop opening somewhere. But I'm not complaining though! There are quite a limited number of seats available and the new coffeeshop is super popular, so be prepared to wait for a table for a little while. But at least my stack of vegan pancakes was definitely worth the wait!

Market Coffee

Valehtelematta varmasti Glasgow'n instagrammattavin kahvila, joka itse asiassa aukesi remontin jäljiltä uudelleen ihan hiljattain. Uudistuneessa kahvilassa en ole vielä ehtinyt käymään, mutta kuvien perusteella näyttää edelleen ihan todella hyvältä! Hyvää kahvia, ihania herkkuja ja instagrammattava ulkonäkö - mitäpä sitä muuta kahvilalta enää kaipaakaan? Varsinkin kun palvelukin on todella ystävällistä! Market Coffeelle myös ehdottomasti kunniamaininta heidän omasta upeasta Instagram feedistään ja storeistaan, mutta toisaalta kun niiden takana kerran on Kate La Vie -blogin Kate, niin ei kai sitä muuta voi odottaakaan! 

Market Coffee must be the most instagrammable coffeeshop in Glasgow, and it actually just reopened after renovations just a week or so ago. I haven't visited the renovated cafe yet, but judging from Instagram the place still looks super cute! Great coffee, lovely treats and instagrammable interiors - what else would you even need from a coffeeshop? Especially since the service is super friendly too! A special mention to Market Coffee's own Instagram too, I absolutely love both their feed and stories. But then again, what else could even be expected from a cafe that has Kate from Kate La Vie working behind it!

Picnic
103 Ingram St, Glasgow, G1 1DX

Picnic on täysin vegaaninen kahvila, jossa on todella hyvä valikoima niin kahveja, leipiä, salaatteja, lämpimiä ruokia, leivonnaisia kuin kakkujakin. Oikeastaan siis jokaiselle jotakin! Kahvimaidoissakin löytyy valinnanvaraa, eikä täällä ainakaan ole pelkoa siitä ettei kasvipohjaista maitoa olisi vaihtoehtona. Valoisa ja söpö sisustus vielä lisää kahvilakokemuksen mielekkyyttä. Niin ja kelpaa hyvin myös sekasyöjille, käytiin nimittäin testaamassa Picnic viime vuonna veljeni kanssa! 

Picnic is a completely vegan cafe with a wide selection of coffees, sandwiches, salads, warm dishes, pastries as well as cakes. So something for everyone really! You can even choose between a few options of plant based milk for your coffee, and here you definitely don't have to worry about dairy free options not being available. Light and cute interiors make the whole cafe experience even better. Oh and Picnic goes down well with carnivores/flexitarians too, proved by my visit to the cafe with my brother last year!

Wilson Street Pantry
6 Wilson St, Glasgow, G1 1SS

Täällä join ehkä yhden elämäni parhaimmista ja pehmeimmistä lateista, eli ei voi kuin suositella! Ja oli muuten vielä ihan kunnon kokoinen kuppikin, joka tälle kahviaddiktille kelpasi paremmin kuin hyvin ;) Ikkunan ääressä on myös mitä parhain paikka katsella ohikulkevia ihmisiä kahvia siemaillen.

I've had one of the best and smoothest lattes in my life in here, so I can 100% recommend Wilson Street Pantry! And it was a generously sized one too, which definitely made this coffee addict happy ;) Sitting right by the window provides for just the perfect spot for people watching while sipping your coffee. 

Southside Roasters
742 Pollokshaws Rd, Glasgow, G41 2AD

Jälleen yksi pieni ja söpö itsenäinen kahvila, joka myöskin käyttää oman paahtimonsa kahvia. Istumapaikkoja ei ole kovin paljon ja moni hakeekin täältä kahvin mukaan, kuten itsekin olen pariin kertaan tehnyt. Jos istumapaikkoja kuitenkin on ja päättää jäädä nauttimaan kahvista sisätiloihin, niin söpöt kaktukset, iso kadulle päin oleva ikkuna ja rento taustamusiikki tekee paikasta todella viihtyisän. Southside Roastersin Instagram on muuten myös jotenkin todella viihdyttävä kivoine kahvikuvineen ja hauskoine teksteineen.

Another quite tiny, independent coffee shop that also uses coffee from its own roastery. There aren't too many seats inside and a lot of people come here to grab their coffee on the go, just like I've done a couple of times. However, if seats are available and you decide to stay and enjoy your coffee inside then the cute cacti, a big window to the street and relaxed background music make this a really cosy place to spend some time in. Southside Roasters also has very entertaining Instagram by the way, lots of cute coffee shots and funny captions included.

Where to Shop for Camel Coats

Saan maanantain postauksessakin pääosassa olevasta New Lookin kamelitakista aina hurjan paljon kehuja ja kyselyitä, mutta koska takki on tosiaan jo useampi vuosi sitten hankittu niin täsmälleen samaa ei valitettavasti ole enää valikoimassa. Kamelitakkia kannattaa muuten erityisesti metsästää nyt kevään alennusmyynneistä kun liikkeet tekevät tilaa kevään ja kesän uutuuksille, eli takkien suhteen saattaa tehdä ihan huippulöytöjä!

7 Ways to Wear a Camel Coat

Jos mun blogia on seurannut pidempään, tai muuten tuntee mut ja mun päivittäisen pukeutumisen, niin ei varmaan ole jäänyt epäselväksi että tämä tyttö tykkää kamelitakeista! Omani on jo muutama vuosi sitten Asosin kautta ostettu New Lookin 25 euron yksilö, mihin nähden se on edelleen aivan älyttömän hyvässä kunnossa ja edelleen ihan viikoittaisessa käytössä aina syys-, talvi- ja kevätaikaan. Kamelitakki sopii oikeastaan ihan kaiken kanssa, ja se onkin mun mielestä yksi niistä jutuista jotka jokaisen naisen (ja miehen!) kaapista tulisi löytyä. Kokosin tähän postaukseen inspiraatioksi omia kamelitakkiasujani muutamien viime kuukausien ajalta, sillä kuten sanottua, tätä takkia on tullut käytettyä paljon! If you've been following my blog for a little while now, or if you just know me and how I dress on a daily basis in general, it comes as no surprise to you that this girl likes camel coats! Mine is an old 25€ New Look bargain from Asos, but it's still to this day in amazing condition and in a weekly use during autumn, winter and spring seasons. A camel coat really goes with everything, and in my personal opinion it's one of those items that every woman (and man!) should have in their wardrobe. Here's a little roundup of my camel coat looks from the past few months, because like I mentioned I've been using this coat a lot!
