Packing Tip x 9

After moving to the UK I've naturally been sitting on an airplane more often than I probably would if I still lived in Finland. Although I'm still not a pro packer by any means, nor do I enjoy the process of packing, I've learned a few either nerve, space, clothing or money saving tips along the way. So here are my 9 tried and trusted packing tips!

packing-tips

- Pakkaa korut puhdistettuihin pieniin take away -sushilaatikoiden mukana tuleviin soijarasioihin.

- Arvokkaammat laukut on hyvä sujauttaa lentokentällä dust bageihinsä, jolloin on helpompi välttyä ikäviltä jäljiltä esimerkiksi turvatarkastuksessa tai lennon aikana.

- Kosmetiikkatesterit on ihan parhaita reissussa!

- Pack your jewellery in those small (and washed) soy sauce jars you get with takeaway sushi boxes.

- Keep your high-end bags in their dust bags to prevent getting any marks in them during security check and the flight.

- Beauty testers and samples are perfect for travelling! Basically require no space at all, and you finally get around to use them. At least I find myself very rarely using samples at home, as I just tend to rely on my old favourites.

- If you travel with a suitcase and a cabin bag, and for some reason end up having less stuff to bring back with, pack the cabin bag inside the big suitcase.

- Wear the biggest and heaviest clothes during the journey, so you save space and weight in your luggage.

- Roll up your clothes so they fit better inside your luggage, and they don't crease that easily either.

- Plan your outfits in advance and only pack items that you can mix and match together (I should take my own advice on this one, regards from an eternal overpacker!)

- Turn your blazers, jackets, etc. inside out, so the outer layer is safe from possible damages

- Take an empty water bottle with you and fill it at the airport to avoid often very overpriced water bottle purchases

I'll be using these tips again myself in a bit over a week, as I'll be heading back to Finland for a few more days before it's time to settle into the Autumn and University life again. Do you have any packing or travelling tips to share?

  4. I love these tips, the samples tip is great, i should really start saving more of them up and the planning outfits really helps, i did it on my last trip and i found i mainly wore 3 of the 5 planned outfits that i took as i washed things whilst i was away, i also find flying cabin bag only easier, less hassle then with checked bags. :) xx

    1. Thank you Diana, I'm glad you liked the post and the tips! Personally I find flying with only hand luggage a bit more challenging actually, as I have to narrow things down quite a bit :D But that's exactly what I'm going to do next week so we'll see how I manage haha! xx

    1. So happy you found these useful Rosa :) xx I never travel without a dust bag anymore, I've personally witnessed a bag getting ruined in an airplane. Luckily it wasn't mine but since then I've been really careful!
