Student Life in UK vs Finland (+ outfit sneak peek)

This Saturday I'm heading to my first formal university party, as Sport Ball is on the agenda. The evening is all about celebrating the university sport clubs, teams and achievements, and almost whole of our dance team is heading there together. And based on what I've heard from previous Sports Balls, Saturday night should be a fun and memorable one! Student social evenings like this, and in general, differ quite greatly from one another in UK and Finland. Of course I haven't properly experienced the Finnish university student life, but I've heard a lot from my friends and have some general knowledge myself too, and for example formal balls like this only happen maybe once a year. Here in the UK on the other hand there are different balls for different occasions and reasons, which I found quite surprising at first if I'm being totally honest. There's also a difference between the student lives regarding 'sitsit', google that if you want to know more ;)

Tärkein kysymys tällaisissa juhlissa on tietenkin "mitä ihmettä mä oikein laitan päälleni?!"

Of course the most important question with formal parties like this is "what I'm actually going to wear?!" I already ordered a dress from Asos, but ended up returning it as it wasn't a good one after all. After a few days of dress stress, I decided to discard the idea of wearing a dress altogether and instead my Saturday night ball outfit will consists of a jumpsuit. This Asos find on the other hand I'm really happy with, and I know that I'll be able to wear this jumpsuit a lot more in the future too, whereas for a long ball gown there's only so many occasions you can wear it in. I hope that we'll manage to take some proper outfit pictures of my Sports Ball look next week with my brother but until then, how do you like these little sneak peek pictures?
