Utility-trendi (siis mikä tän suomennos on?! hyödyllisyystrendi?) on jyllännyt isosti tänä vuonna, ja kaikkein trendikkäimmät on vetäneet päälleen työmiehenhaalareita muistuttavan boiler suit -haalarin. (Tässä kohtaa muuten pahoittelen taas tätä mun finglishiä, aina ei suomenkieliset termit ole ihan hallussa :D). Omaan tyyliini ja vaatekaappiini ei se työmiehenhaalari kuitenkaan oikein sovi, vaikka monen muun päällä se upealta näyttääkin.
The utility trend has been huge this year, and the trendiest among us have been sporting the boiler suits like no other. However, the boiler suit is a tad too much for me, my style and wardrobe, no matter how amazing it looks on other people.
Sen sijaan hieman hillitympi ja naisellisempi tapa pukeutua trendiin on utility-viboja henkivä kevyt takki, jossa trendikkyys yhdistyy myös trenssimäiseen klassisuuteen. Kun takin pitää auki on kokonaislook hieman rennompi, kun taas kiinni ja vyön solmimalla saa siluetista naisellisemman ja koko asusta astetta siistimmän. Erityisesti näin hameeseen yhdistettynä tuo utility-takki naiselliseen lookiin kivaa kontrastia, mutta näen jo mielessäni kuinka takin avulla voi lisätä utility-henkeä myös klassisiin farkku-lookeihin. Neutraalin värinsä ansiosta takki sopii moneen ja on ajaton, ja uskon tämän pysyvän mun kaapissa ja käytössä vielä pitkään silloinkin kun utility-trendi on jo mennyt ohitse. Instead a bit more minimal and feminine way to wear the utility trend is with a light jacket that gives a nod to the utility style, and it also combines trendiness with almost a trench coat like timelessness. Worn open, the overall look is more casual and relaxed, whereas when buttoned up and tied with the belt at the waist the silhouette becomes more feminine and the outfit a bit more sharp. Especially when pairing the jacket together with a skirt like I've done here, the jacket adds some nice contrast to a feminine look. However, I can already see myself wearing the jacket together with all of my trusty old denim looks too. Thanks to the neutral colour of the jacket it is versatile and timeless, and I believe this will stay with me in my wardrobe and as part of my outfits for a long time even after the utility trend has passed. Keskiviikon postauksessa näkyikin jo, että tänä syksynä oon iskenyt silmäni ribbattuihin neulosmateriaaleihin, ja ihan erityisesti juurikin ribbihameisiin. Voiko olla mitään parempaa kuin ribbihame, joka on samaan aikaan mukava, siisti, tyylikäs, elegantti ja mitähän vielä?! No ei voi. Kynämalli on muuten jotain, mitä mun päällä ei ole varmaan koskaan aiemmin nähty, mutta ihastuinkin siihen täysin. Ehkä mä oon vihdoin kasvamassa aikuiseksi? You might have already spotted on Wednesday's post that this autumn I've got my eye on ribbed materials, and especially ribbed skirts. Is there anything better than a ribbed skirt that is comfortable, chic, elegant, etc. all at the same time?! Let me tell you, there isn't. The pencil silhouette is something that I've never worn before by the way, but I actually really fell in love with how it looks. Maybe I'm finally growing up and becoming an adult?
