Facing My Fears with St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse

"Do one thing every day that scares you", kuiskasin itselleni kun avasin St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse -pullon.

'Do one thing every day that scares you', I whispered to myself while opening a bottle of the St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse. A couple of weeks ago I finally opened the St. Moriz self tanner that I bought back in February, and that I had been ridiculously nervous about opening. It took me a good six months to finally find the courage, but now I've also tried this St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse that so many people seem to like.

Despite all the nervousness and fear of ending up looking like an oompa loompa, I actually managed to create an even and natural tan on to my skin. Now I already have as much as two applications behind me, and I have to say that it actually went a bit better on the first time. On my first application time I was being super careful, cautious and precise, whereas on the second time last weekend I slathered the tan on a bit more daringly. But the colour of my skin still looks clean and natural now, so I have no need to hide patchy or orangey skin under my clothes.

St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse

After exfoliating and moisturizing the dry areas, knees and elbows that is, I apply the tanning mousse to my body in circular motions using a tanning mitt. The text on the bottle says you can use this St. Moriz Tanning Mousse also on your face, but I've decided to leave my face untouched to avoid colour damage as well as other damages it might do to the skin on my face. The mousse applies easily and because of the brown colour you can clearly see which parts have already been covered and which parts still need to get their tan on. The mousse dries quite quickly so you have to be fairly rapid with the application too, but on the other hand you don't have to wait for long until it's safe to put some clothes back on. St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse has olive milk and vitamin E in it, which leave a soft feeling on the skin after applying the self tanner. The tan develops in 4-6 hours, but on the first time I hopped in the shower after around three hours, just in case. The second time I let the mousse work for about that four hours, and I believe that the quite short times I've had the tan on have a big impact on the natural end result.

Now I also know what that famous biscuity smell of self tanners is, as the St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse isn't fragrance free either. I don't exactly have anything to compare this with, but I actually find the scent quite pleasant and not too strong or stingy at all. But if the smell of self tanning products is something you absolutely can't stand, then this might not be the best option to go for.

St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse

Onko kukaan muu käyttänyt St. Morizin Self Tanning Moussea?

So now I've overcome my fear of self tanners without any bigger complications, and I'm sure the use of sunless tan products continues! Has anyone else used the St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse?

  3. I've never self tanned but for some reason for the past few years I haven't been able to tan naturally either. Even if I spend the whole day outside when it's 25+ degrees I just stay pale :(. I decided to order a few self tanners yesterday from Feelunique so well see how that goes :D. I really like to look of a natural tan in the summer though because it makes you look a lot healthier :)x

    1. Yay, hope it works out well for you! :) I love a healthy glow on my skin too, but recently I've also been thinking about the not so healthy side of getting a natural tan. It's a tricky question though, as completely natural color sure looks the best! xx
