New Balance nousi trendikkäiden lenkkarimerkkien kärkeen pari vuotta sitten, ja on pysynyt siellä siitä asti haastaen muita urheilumerkkejä. Lenkkarit vakiinnuttavat muutenkin asemaansa go-to kenkinä melkeinpä mihin tahansa tilaisuuteen, eikä ne enää ole vain lenkkipolkkua tai kuntosalia varten. Varsinkin kaupunkityylissä lenkkarit tuo asuun super kivan rennon ja sporttisen viban, vaikka muuten olisikin pukeutunut siistimmin. Ja onhan lenkkarit tietysti super mukavat jalassa!
New Balance is a brand that rose to the top of the list of trendy sneakers a couple of years ago, and has hold its position challenging other sportswear and sneaker brands. By now sneakers in general have really established themselves as the go-to shoe of choice for almost any situation, and they're not only for running or gym sessions anymore. Especially in urban city style, a pair of sneakers on your feet add such a nice casual and sporty vibe to the look, even if you've otherwise got a smarter outfit on. And there's just no denying that sneakers are obviously super comfy to wear too!

Trendikkäitä New Balance -malleja on vaikka kuinka, ja on myös hauska seurata kuinka New Balance -trendin sisällä on myös omia trendejään jotka elävät, muuttuvat, tulevat ja menevät. Yhtenä sesonkina trendikkäimmät kengät on 574-malli ja seuraavana puolestaan New Balance 993. Omat New Balance lenkkarini ovat 452 -malli, joka löytyi Zalandon valikoimasta. Kannattaa muuten pitää silmällä myös Zalando Lounge* -sivua, joka toimii ikään kuin Zalandon outletina. Sieltä voi nimittäin tehdä vaikka mitä hyviä löytöjä monilta eri brändeiltä super hyvin hinnoin. Lenkkareiden ja urheilukenkien kategoriassa näytti tällä hetkellä olevan niin New Balancea, Nikea, Adidasta kuin Reebokiakin, mutta nämä tosiaan vaihtelevat kuten outlet-myymälöissä muutenkin. Myös esimerkiksi Arket* ja &Other Stories* myyvät New Balancea. Jos taas selkeästi brändiä edustavat lenkkarit eivät ole oma juttu, niin esimerkiksi NA-KD* myy super kivoja lenkkareita.
Käytin todella pitkään näitä* Eccon valkoisia lenkkareita, jotka ovat näkyneet täällä blogissakin usein, esimerkiksi tässä postauksessa. Niillä on kuitenkin tullut kuljettua niin paljon, että ahkeran käytön seurauksena lenkkarit ovat jo nähneet ne kaikkein parhaimmat päivänsä. Täksi kevääksi kaipasinkin uutta paria valkoisia lenkkareita, ja niinpä hyppäsin itsekin New Balance -kelkkaan.
Where to buy New Balance sneakers
There are myriad of trendy New Balance models, and it's also quite interesting and fun to follow how the trends within the New Balance trend live and change. One season it's all about the 574 and the next is when the New Balance 993 is the trendiest shoe of the moment. My New Balance trainers are the 452 model, that I found on Zalando. I also highly recommend keeping an eye on the Zalando Lounge website*, which acts basically like Zalando's outlet. You might make some great finds from various different brands with really affordable prices. I checked the sneaker and sporting shoe section and right now they seemed to have New Balance, Nike, Adidas and Reebok among many other brands, but the selection changes just like in any other outlet store. Arket* and &Other Stories* also stock New Balance shoes. And if clearly branded sneakers are not your thing, then e.g. NA-KD* has a good selection of sneakers to choose from.
I used to wear this* white pair of Ecco sneakers for a long long time, and I've often featured them here on the blog too, for example in this post. However, I've worn them so much that they really have come to the end of their best days. And so for this spring I wanted to get myself a replacement pair, and finally jumped on the New Balance bandwagon myself.

New Balance lenkkareiden stailaaminen
Lenkkarit on tosiaan vakiinnuttaneet asemansa jokapäiväisessä käytössä niin sporttisesti, klassisesti kuin naisellisestikin pukeutuneiden jaloissa. Itselläkin lenkkarit ovat jalassa varmasti 90% ajasta silloin kun kadut ovat kuivia. Ja jos totta puhutaan, niin kyllä niitä lenkkareita tulee välillä käytettyä myös talvella katujen ollessa lumen peitossa. Rakastan lenkkareiden monipuolisuutta, sillä ne todella sopivat oikeastaan minkä tahansa asun kanssa tuoden siihen nimenomaan sitä rentoutta ja sporttisuutta. Erityisesti valkoiset lenkkarit kuuluu omiin suosikkeihin, sillä valkoinen väri näyttää ihanan raikkaalta - varsinkin pimeän talven jälkeen jolloin suurin osa kengistäkin on tummanpuhuvia. En malta odottaa, että nyt kun kelit kunnolla lämpenee ja kevät vihdoin saapuu pääsen yhdistämään nämä New Balance 452 -lenkkarit keväisempiin asuihin bleisereiden, trenssien ja nahkatakkien kanssa. Ja myöhemmin kesällä sitten shortseihin, mekkoihin ja muihin kesälookeihin. Ennustankin näistä lenkkareista nimenomaan niitä mun uusia go-to kenkiä joka tilanteeseen.
Styling New Balance trainers
As mentioned, sneakers truly have established themselves as the perfect everyday shoe of choice whether your style is sporty, classy or feminine. I too have a pair of sneakers on my feet probably 90% of the time when the streets just are dry of snow and ice. And truth be told, I do sometimes wear trainers also during the winter months when there's snow on the ground. I love the versatility of them, as trainers really can be worn with almost any outfit bringing that touch of casualness and sportiness to the look. Especially white trainers are close to my heart as the white colour just looks so lovely and fresh - even more so now that we're just coming out of the dark winter season when all the shoes tend to be very dark coloured too. I cannot wait until the weather really warms up and full on spring arrives and I can style my New Balance 452 trainers into lighter spring outfits with blazers, trench coats and leather jackers. And later in summer with shorts, dresses and other summer outfits as well. I strongly predict that these will without a doubt become those new go-to shoes for every and any situation for me.
