Two Casual Ways to Style a Leopard Print Satin Midi Skirt

Arkena tykkään kuitenkin stailata mekot ja hameet muiden vähän rennompien elementtien kanssa, ja tässä tuleekin kaksi tapaa stailata leopardikuvioitu satiininen midihame: rennon kasuaali mutta chic, ja rennon sporttinen.

I used to be that person, that couldn't imagine herself wearing skirts or dresses in normal everyday life. I've come a long way since those days, and nowadays dresses and skirts are part of my everyday style year around, but especially during the spring and summer months. In day to day wear, I like to style skirts with some more casual pieces though, and in this post I'm sharing two casual ways to style a leopard print satin midi skirt: a casual but chic, and casually sporty.

Casual and Chic

Ensimmäisessä asussa hame yhdistyy rennosti mustaan suureen miesten t-paitaan, mutta kokonaisuus on edelleen tyylikkään chic. Tällaiset asut on niitä mun vakkareita, ja tykkään yhdistellä klassisia elementtejä trendikkäämpiin juttuihin. Tosin leopardikuvio ja midihameet voi mun mielestä jo melkeinpä laskea klassikoiksi, sen verran kovan suosion ne on saavuttaneet ja tuskin tulevat enää milloinkaan täysin menemään 'pois muodista'. Tämä asu on hyvä esimerkki myös siitä, kuinka eri materiaalit ja tekstuurit tuo lookiin mielenkiintoa, ja omissa asuissani pyrin yleensä sekoittelemaan erilaisia materiaaleja keskenään. Hameen kiiltävä ja sileä satiini tulee rennomaksi ja arkikelpoisemmaksi pehmeän puuvillan myötä, ja nahkatakki puolestaan tuo asuun vähän rokimpaa särmää.

The first outfit combines the skirt together with a men's t-shirt, yet the overall look of the outfit stays stylishly chic. These kind of outfits are my go to, and I like to combine classic elements with trendier pieces. Although, I feel as if leopard print and midi skirts have become classics in their own right by now, as they've been so popular and I don't think they will ever go completely 'out of fashion' anymore. This outfit is also a good example of how different materials and textures make an outfit more interesting, and in my own outfits I usually try to mix and match different materials together. The shiny satin fabric of the skirt becomes more relaxed with the soft cotton t-shirt, whereas the leather jacket adds a touch of rock girl edginess.

Casual and Sporty

Tämä toinen look on sitten taas sporttisempi yhdistelmä, jossa hame sai kaverikseen valkoisen hupparin. Tämä asu syntyi itse asiassa ikään kuin vahingossa, enkä alunperin ollut ajatellut yhdistäväni hametta hupparin kanssa ollenkaan. Heitin hupparin t-paidan päälle ihan muussa tarkoituksessa, mutta kun näin kokonaisuuden heijastuvan viereisestä ikkunasta, niin totesin että täähän näyttää aika hyvältä näinkin! Tässäkin omaa silmää miellyttää nimenomaan eri materiaalien ja tyylien yhdistelmä, ja asu osoittautui kivaksi sporttisemmaksi tavaksi yhdistää naisellinen hame. Osoittaa siis sen, että rohkeasti kokeilemalla ja vahingossakin voi löytää vaikka mitä uusia kokonaisuuksia.

This second outfit, on the other hand, is a sportier combination, where the skirt got accompanied by a white hooded sweatshirt. This outfit was actually a bit of an accident in how it came to be, and I wasn't initially thinking about wearing the skirt and the hoodie together. I threw the hoodie on top of my t-shirt for a totally different reason, but when I saw the reflection in the window next to me I thought the outfit actually looked quite nice! What I like about this outfit is, again, the contrasts between different materials and styles, and the look turned out to be a nice sportier way to style the feminine skirt. This outfit also goes to show that accidents and brave experimentations can lead to great new combinations.
