Organza ja puhvihihat on olleet yksi vuoden 2020 suurimpia trendejä, joista erityisesti jälkimmäinen tulee vielä kirjaimellisesti isommin ja kovemmin nyt kesällä. Kukaan ei varmasti ole voinut välttyä puhvihihojen bongaamiselta, jos vain vähänkään on kiinnittänyt ympäristöön, muotiin, trendeihin, ihmisten pukeutumiseen ja vaatekauppojen valikoimiin huomiota.
Organza and puff sleeves have been some of the biggest trends of 2020, of which especially the latter is getting literally even bigger this summer. I am sure that anyone who pays even a little bit of attention to their environment, fashion, trends, how people dress and what the clothing brands are offering us has not been able to avoid spotting puff sleeves popping up everywhere.
Muistan kun joskus nuorempana puhvihihat olivat myös kovaa huutoa, mutta tästä on aikaa ainakin kymmenen vuotta, ja silloinkin puhvit olivat kooltaan hyvin paljon maltillisemmat verrattuna näihin vuoden 2020 puhvihihoihin. Ja mitä pidemmälle vuosi menee, niin sitä suuremmiksi hihatkin tuntuvat muuttuvan. Mitä vuoden 2020 hihamuotiin tulee, niin sen voisikin tiivistää aika hyvin että "go big or go home".
I remember when puff sleeves used to be a thing a few years ago when I was younger. We're talking maybe at least ten years here, and back then the sleeves were much more moderate in size compared with these 2020 versions of the puff sleeves. And the further into the year we go, the bigger the sleeves seem to be getting. When it comes to the 2020 sleeve fashion, you could pretty much sum it up with "go big or go home"

Itse tosiaan olen tällä hetkellä aivan hullaantunut sekä puhvihihoista että läpikuultavasta organza-materiaalista, joten kun pääsin valitsemaan Bubbleroomin uutuuksista muutamia vaatteita Instagram-yhteistyön merkeissä (huom! tämä blogipostaus ei siis ole osa yhteistyötä), niin totta kai iskin silmäni heti tähän kauniiseen organza-puhvihiha-sydänpääntie-paitaan. Hihojen lisäksi tässä paidassa tosiaan veti puoleensa tuo kaunis ja ihanan naisellinen kaula-aukko, eikä tällaista vielä löytynytkään vaatekaapistani entuudestaan. Kuvissa yhdistin paidan beigensävyisiin paperbag-housuihin, joka muuten on housupuolelta yksi kuumimmista trendeistä taas muutaman vuoden jälkeen. Voin kuitenkin jo kuvitella kuinka hyvältä paita näyttää myös esimerkiksi kesäklassikoihin farkkushortseihin tai -hameeseen yhdistettynä. Nyt näyttäisi kelitkin lämpenevän sen verran, että shortsit saa vihdoin kaivaa esiin, eli enköhän pääse kokeilemaan kyseistä komboa ihan käytännössäkin pian.
Personally I am head over heels in love with both puff sleeves and organza material just now, so when I got to pick a few items from Bubbleroom for an Instagram collaboration (please note, this blogpost is not part of the campaign), of course I was drawn to this top with the gorgeous organza puff sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. What drew me in alongside the sleeves was exactly that beautiful and feminine neckline, and it's also a style I didn't have in my wardrobe before. In these images I have combined the top together with a pair of beige paperbag waisted trousers, which by the way is a big trouser trend again after a few years. However, I can already imagine how good the top will look when worn together with such summer classics as a pair of denim shorts or a skirt. It seems that the temperatures here in Helsinki are finally reaching the shorts appropriate point, so I'm sure I will be able to actually wear that combo soon.
