Holiday outfit: slip dress and linen shirt - Loma-asu: silkkimekko ja pellavapaita

Now that there are no 'going away' holidays in the plans for a little while, it leaves us with no choice but to try to seek that holiday feeling and vibes at home. And one way that helps me to get a bit of a holiday mood on is through fashion and clothing. I named the outfit in these images as 'French Riviera larp look', because I could totally see myself wearing this outfit on the streets of e.g. Nice, just like on our trip last summer. Psst! If you want to get some holiday vibes going on with the help of my travel posts from Nice, you can do so through images for example in this, this and this post. And if you rather relive our trip through a video then make sure to check my travel vlogs here and here

As mentioned, I live-action-role-played myself to the French Riviera with this outfit, even though in reality I was only wearing it on the streets of Helsinki and on my parents' 25th wedding anniversary dinner at the restaurant Hampton Bay. By the way, eating out is another great way to get yourself into a holiday mood, especially now that it is possible again!

Simple and silky slip dresses were a huge trend last summer, and although they might not be just as big of a trend this summer, it is exactly thanks to that simple elegance of them that makes slip dresses the perfect garment inside the summer 2020 wardrobe too. They are easy to accessorise and modify depending on your mood and situation, and whereas with the addition of a tied linen shirt, beautiful earrings and a pair of sandals the final result is Riviera appropriate French girl chic, when worn with a denim jacket and a vintage crossbody bag the exact same dress can be worn for instance in a Finnish apple blossom garden like I did in this blogpost from a few weeks ago.

House of Elliottin koruissa käytetään aitoja helmiä kolmesta eri hintaluokasta, eli valikoimasta löytyy koruja myös eri budjeteille. Brändi hyppäsi kyllä heti omien suosikkieni joukkoon, sillä kauniiden tuotteiden ohella nimenomaan se tarina ja intohimo koko brändin takana on jotakin mitä itse arvostan todella paljon.

Last week I was invited to join the jewelry brand House of Elliott's afterwork event above the Helsinki rooftops, and it was super interesting to hear more about the brand and get to know the story behind them better. For many years I've been spotting House of Elliott's products for example in the Finnair on-flight shopping catalogs (maybe that's one of the reasons I was having such holiday vibes when wearing this outfit?!), but it was only now that I really learned to know the brand. House of Elliott is a Finnish jewellery brand that focuses on pearls, and the products are designed here in Finland and manufactured in Beijing. The company is still family owned, and I absolutely loved hearing the brand's story all the way from the beginning as told by the founder Liisa. And you could really sense that she has a true passion for pearls. It is hard to believe that a brand like this comes from Finland, and that's also something that Liisa has apparently been told as well when she has been showcasing the brand and the products to people all over the world. The brand's jewelry is made using genuine pearls from three different price ranges, so they have something to offer for different budgets too. House of Elliott definitely jumped onto my list of favourite brands, and alongside beautiful products it is exactly the stories and the passion behind the brand that I really appreciate.
